Travis Lunardi, Jordon Robbins, Steven Kennedy, Joel Magnabosco, all from Werribee VFL, and all are Altona Juniors... Along with Richard Knight from Williamstown.
Is Altona any chance this week to cause an upset against Spotty?
Altona are a much better side with their Williamstown listed players actually playing... And with the Bulldogs season over, I think Williamstown will be overloaded with Doggies players, keeping the Altona/Willy boys at Altona...
You must not know much about Altonas squad, they had 5-6 players out for that match! Not to mention the 3 players they had missing for the entire year. All talk about the past is pretty useless, as in the 3 weeks, we will know where Altona stands, either with Spotty and Albion- or not.
Class above?
Albion beat Hoppers by a kick, and Altona by 3 goals when the scores were level at 3/4 time!
To say they are a class above, both will have to easily beat Altona when they play, which is 2 and 3 weeks away.
So a bit premature on that call I reckon!
Altona couldn't be of too a better start, after smashing Hoppers and beating Sunshine at Sunshine...
HUGE game against Spotty in 2 weeks, who put Altona back in their place at the end last year, after Altona had a decent run of form and were being tipped as "contenders"...
Different side at...
Corey Lawson is playing for altona this week against hoppers. Don't know who you heard that information of ? Both have been at the club all the juniors , couldn't see a "walk out" happening ..
50-55 senior/reserve players on the first session 3 weeks ago, numbers have dropped down to around 35/40 a session… but most of the 50-55 have been rotating through, and have trained on different nights..
First eleven cricket team might be a bit of the mark :thumbsd:
No need to get defensive, I am just stating that it comes across as very cocky to openly tip against players from another club... Certain people respond certain ways to comments such as that, thats all i am saying...
haha! A vote for Joel, doesn't mean im the Salmond from the 18's!
I've watched a couple of Spotty recent games, and he is a quality under rated player, who like you said, would want to prove something after being dropped from last years grand final team...
I think were Wiggins is going would be better spoken about next week, after the last and biggest game of the year is played.....?
I think Albion will get close to Spotty, but Spotty did win 17 games this year by an average winning margin of around 20 goals for a reason...
Im tipping Spotty by...
Openly tipping against Altona, when there is a huge chance of you playing them in a couple weeks, is just plain stupid...
Don't get to far ahead of yourself after playing a few senior games, now thinking you are Mr. Under 18 WRFL.
This just a thought, since majority says Spotty is the best team the comp has seen in many a years and could challenge for a flag in the EDFL/ and majority also say the WRFL standard has greatly dropped, and this year is the lowest it has been in a long time...
If Spotty dont make/lose the...
Anything can happen in finals...
Lets just use a very well known example of Geelong in 2008...
They finished 16 points, and 30% above 2nd placed Hawthorn, and a further 22 points, and 45% above 3rd placed Bulldogs...
By comparing that season, to Spotswood now, i think it is fair to say they are...
Re: Western Region FL - Division One - Part 2
Its the match of the round!!
How on Earth can the WRFL think Last vs 2nd Last will be a better match then 2vs4, 5vs6, 3vs7- all teams in the mix for finals(besides colts)....
If the WRFL is showcasing Heights vs West as the best match the league...
Re: Western Region FL - Division One - Part 2
I dont know the politics of this, but why dont the WRFL try and get Williamstown, Werribee, and or Point Cook into the league.
All 3 teams are situated in and around teams that compete in the WRFL...
With those 3 teams, plus Caroline Springs...
Re: Western Region FL - Division One - Part 2
18 in any division or against team is a fare effort!!
But Sunshine didn't kick inaccurately, Altona would've have rushed 13/14 points.... Good tactic used by them, Sunshine never had a chance in the F50, because everytime it was there Altona was...
Re: Western Region FL - Division One - Part 2
Altona now sit a game clear in second spot, and if they beat Albion this week at Altona, they will 100% finish in the top 3:eek::eek::eek:...
Fare effort for a young and upcoming team!
Weybury or Eason-Jones, Weybury should win it, for a pretty plain and simple reason, he is better...
Finco or Irving for Goal kicking, Finco to win, due to playing three bottom end teams in the run home
Grand final will be Hoppers vs Altona... With Hoppers to take the prize (breaks my heart...
Altona vs Hoppers was a very good game.
Pretty even game overall, and the scoreboard i think reflected both teams effort... Though in saying that, if Altona had of kicked straight in the 3rd, i think the 4th could have gone a lot differently, having Altona went into it with a lead,, though they...
Regardless of wheather or not Altona makes finals im sure the club itself will look at this year as a sucess.
Last year Altona only managed 7 wins, the year before i think it was 3/4 wins mabye??
This year Altona have allready got 9, and you would think they could win at least 1/2 of their last...
Chris Gallagher and Sam Mason have also been great pick ups for Altona!
With Altona, the best thing about this season is how well they have done considering the injury list. B.Shiels, Z.Zadour, J.Rafferty(since Spotty) out for the season, also with A.Freeland out for the greater part!
Those 4...
There is no "Club" attitude when it comes to the jets... Unless you play everygame with the Jets, then you can not consider them your "Club", as every player has a club that they have grown up with.
With the Jets coacing staff moving around the team like no tomorrow, then there can not...
Wrfl have put together a really weak side, over half the team play B's...
A team of Albion, Altona, Hoppers and Spotty players would make perfect sense. Yet they just didn't pick players from them teams, two qaulity players from Altona, Harris Tracey and Adam Ozzy got dropped from the sqaud...
