    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Isn’t he being forgotten because he was hyped up and then didn’t dominate despite being much bigger than all the other mids in the draft. Sounds like the chance to be a bust. Sliders rarely surprise

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Are you concerned with his disposal? On e of the clips had him holding on to the ball too long and then giving off loopy handballs that won’t cut it at afl level. Was concerning. He didn’t have much lead up to the champs Others have pushed him forward off his SANFL form where presumably his...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Would we ever take a speedy player with that sort of approach? No selection is without risk. While Jagga will probably be a better player I think he is too similar a player to Walsh and we need something different in our midfield mix.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

3weeks ago 11. Brisbane gets Pick 34 and 66. Carlton gets Pick 73 and the Lions’ future second-round pick. 12. Carlton gets Pick 14. Hawthorn gets the Blues’ future first and second round picks.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Will be interesting to see how he goes. Struggled to dominate in a comp where he has a massive size advantage which will be lessened when he gets into the AFL. Will he just become smallish KPP like Francis or Fogarty.

    Prediction 2025 - Best 23 + Emergencies - Rolling

Despite what has been reported, at this stage, I don't think they know what they want JSOS to do next year.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

That is a sensational deal for the Tigers. Likely to be pick 2 and 3 for 6 and 10. Tigers have got unbelievable value with their trades and pick swaps this year

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I think the real backlash was for giving up a first round pick for a 27 yr old B grader like Baker. Should have been their 2nd rounder at best

What are you watching No. 3 🎥🎦🎬

It does seem wrong to have a Mexican Micky Fuller even if it is true to books. Entertaining even if rather formulaic after 3 season.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

It is the problem with the best available strategy of drafting. Would Langford be a better pick up for Port who already have quick mids possibly, but Carlton need pace and I think Draper is the one. As much as I like Smith, Pommyinoz observed that he tends to go out the back of the stoppage...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Interesting that the Bombers delisted one of the Davey twins. 2 very similar players who haven't shown a lot and with list spots tight one had to go due to Kako coming in. The Campos at least seem to be different types of players. There is a risk taking F&S just because they are. Despite this...

    Speculation Jack Carroll

Unlucky to be delisted. Being the sub so often didn't help his progression combined with appalling VFL fixturing. Has a nice side step and a more penetrating kick than given credit for. December Birth day so I think their is still improvement.

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

Worst draft night ever. Even after the bad trade which at the time I wasn't that critical of at the time, the obvious picks were La Verde, who was unlucky with injury and being played out of position but has been a solid contributor still on the * list and Miller who has been AA. But good old...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

They managed to pysch out * into thinking Kako would be gone by 9 and get them to trade out even though he is likely to go mid teens. Awesome move. Maybe they just tell North they would

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Yep - there is a difference between confidence and arrogance. As Pagan used to say - if you are any good you don't have to tell them, they will be telling you.

    VFL Carlton Reserves 2025

The type of senior player you need in the 2s as opposed to Philips who was underwhelming at * before being the same player at Carlton 2s

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Will Brodie and Darcy Fogarty were ranked No1 in about March of his draft year. The fact that even as an oversized junior he was disappointing isn't a great sign moving forward.

Opinion The 'Carlton related stuff that doesn't need it's own thread' thread Part 3

Pies gave Port everything they had. It was not about a comparable deal, Port was only going to accept 2 first from us.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Players that are Standouts in their bottom age year but fail to improve /go backwards in their top age year don't have a great track record. I would go for the more current form. Recent misses for Carlton include SPS and LOB. Both had injuries as an excuse for their down years as well.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

How BC has dropped in the phantoms is insane. U18 AA, best player in the U17 game last year. Everyone is looking for the next DeGoey or Tracc. Carlton pick Cunners over Dunkley for this reason looking for X factor over the guaranteed best 22.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

It also reflects that this is seen as a deep draft with great players available in the teens and first early rounders that I am not sure are particularly special. While it is a fairly uneducated opinion, I would prefer McKercher/Reid than the players on offer in this years draft. So is the top...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Small mids are fine as long as they are not slow and/or lightly built. Why SPS and Fisher weren't able to make it

Hot Topic Carlton 2024 Trade Discussion

How many interstate players go home from big 4 clubs (who aren't basket cases like the Tigers at the moment)? Struggling to think of many inside of 10 years
  25. S

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I don't see it. Doesn't have a penetration kick and doesn't seem afraid of contact.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

12 touches is not that low if playing HF and not in the midfield.

    Traded 7. Matthew Kennedy

It is hard to fathom how Lord went undrafted (though obviously teams were looking at him given North had him in their VFL programme). His output, albeit over a small sample size matched what you would expect from a first round pick in their first year around 17 possessions off low game time...

    Traded 7. Matthew Kennedy

There would be something wrong if any Carlton player was looking happy being scoreless and down 10 goals in a final
  29. S

    Traded 7. Matthew Kennedy

The reality is he would have played half as many game this year if JSOS had been available and is not best 22 if Cerra and Doc are fully fit. For him to get the security of another 2 years ( already had next year) is massive for him and will take him to 30 about the age where B graders start to...
