I understand the hype around Ed, because he appears to have all the attributes to succeed.
I hope the hype turns into reality.
One player who seems to fly under the radar, but doesn't look out of place in the team is Wil Parker. There's nothing flash about him, but I figure he can carve out a...
DeMattia has fallen down the rankings here hasn't he? This time last year he was tracking nicely, and if I remember correctly, McRae thought he was looking like an early debutante. Then the long term injury occurred.
There was plenty of love from supporters here as well, so what's happened...
I remain skeptical that Reef will become a regular member of our team. I really hope he makes it, but from what I've seen, he's in the same basket as AJ and Fin; not quite AFL level.
Indeed Junior! That cesspit of a club would wallow in filth forever if I had any control over things. I was there the day Greening nearly died; I will never forget it. Nor will I forget the weasel words and blame shifting from the St.Kilda leadership, including its coach Allan Jeans. The thug...
Can't see any mention of Friday's training time.
Could it be 9am, or maybe 11, or perhaps 12:45 or not at all?
Asking for the poor bugger who has ridden his bike in three times to find an empty stadium.
The players, trainers, volunteers and media are informed. Our enormous media department...
I agree; it's not an issue. Some players just turn up on game day and play like champs. They don't blitz it on the track. They're not all athletes or driven, Pendlebury types. Houston doesn't need to be the fastest or fittest. We just need him to keep doing what he does best.
I've enjoyed what...
Training - Monday November 25th.
Cool, drizzly and 17°.
We arrived at Olympic Park this morning at 9:45. It was a cool & grey with constant drizzle. Unfortunately for us and the 10 or so others in attendance, training was to begin at 12:45. Would it be so hard for somebody in our enormous media...
Plenty of senior players are not doing very much at this stage.
Cameron turned up today in civvies and hung around for a while and then drove home. Darcy Moore ditto, but he said he had a meeting to attend.
There was no Pendles, Sidey, Elliott, WHE, McStay, McCreery, Bobby Hill, Markov.
I'm...
We attended training today and it was a light skills session with only a couple of things worth reporting:
Tom Mitchell is in great nick and that is great news for all of us.
Brody Mihocek looks to be fully recovered.
I spent the session keeping a close eye on Reef McInnes. There's been some...
Not sure if anybody else mentioned this, but Mitchell trained very strongly and looks to be in brilliant nick. Fingers crossed for a good run for him in 2025. We missed him terribly last year.
It was a pretty light session for Day 1.
Started late (11am), which meant a walk along the river and a browse in the Collingwood Shop before we saw the players emerge.
There was a minute's silence for Remembrance Day and then the boys broke into groups.
Dan Houston didn't train but Perryman...
To be fair to AJ, he trained the house down last summer. Those who watched him over the pre-season were very hopeful the penny had dropped back then. It's not a lack of effort with AJ.
I couldn't care less what Kane thinks about holiday snaps; I'm just grateful Nick posted this one. Maybe one to rank with Jamie Elliott's classic from years gone by?
A few years ago, Caro used the phrase that Frankston was 'Moe by the Sea'. Having lived in Frangers for a few years in my younger teaching days, I believe she was spot on.
I think the experiment is over full stop. He is average in every department. He's not quick by hand or foot, lacks penetration with his disposals and doesn't hurt the opposition. He's never going to be anything other than below average.
