Just to add, those who are considering bringing in Mummy now; trade is worthy if you think he can average 104 for the remaining of the 19 games, at his current price $565,400.
edit; might confuse a few people, average 104 between Rounds 4-23.
Playing for league is different from overall.
I think it's a bigger accomplishment if you finish say top 1000 overall - but i guess there's other priorities (money league)
If you are confident Kelly will average 80+, then bring him in for Daisy who looks to be averaging similar. Difference is, Kelly will generate more cash quicker, and will free up 140k.
Mind you, being top 3% currently - i would look towards bringing another premium to make up the difference...
Webster to KK should be OK in terms of output/cash generation. This will free up 43k and allow you someone up to 478k when giving Walters the flick. Of the forward options, Zorko will probably be the best available (only increased +26k, so the boat hasn't sailed yet). I wouldn't be too worried...
Im reading that Beams will have a scan on his quad.
If Beams is out for more than 2 weeks, I will pull the trigger and bring in Selwood (extra cash from Rohan to MCrouch)
Gingy
Being 510 points from the leader, I think you need to replace Swan with a direct Super Premium to maintain that 110+ average.
When comparing the two teams (1st Rank left, Gingy right)
Hanley, Mitchell
Swallow, Bartel
Jaensch, Langford (D7)
Pendles, Swan
Watson, Murphy
Libba, Thomas...
I have Tyson, Polec, Dunstan, (Ellis, Taylor) in the mids.
Kelly does look really good when playing a full game, but i think spending 200k is too much to sit on the bench.
I'm hoping Taylor or Impey to cover F6 40-60s come Bye's. Thanks for the response though.
I'm not convinced of Merrett, but I can see why you are considering it.
Personally I'd grab Selwood for Swan, let the rookies mature and with your current kitty bring in someone else - as per Jiska's advice.
Cash $58k
Taylor on MID Bench.
I'm looking for JS and cash generation for F6 Rookie. I think Taylor and Impey will do both until culling (I'm alright for these two to score 50s at F6). Via DPP link, Taylor to go F6 - and a mid rookie choice of Buckley or MCrouch.
Shot up in rankings - Franklin and Pav doing better. I'll persist with Goldstein..
Only issue are forward rookies; Rohan, Impey, JKH.
Impey - I think he will do enough to hold his 50 average and slowly make enough dosh when Byes come.
Rohan - Priced at $176k with a 46 BE. Too expensive to make...
I'm pretty certain that is the case with most R2 trades, injury (Martin) dropped (McDonough, Clurey).
Initial rookie selections may have been compromised, due to the split R1, but the mere point is that making no trades in R2 doesn't set you back. It's all in hindsight, if it weren't for...
It goes both ways - those may have seen LMac an incorrect rookie, traded him out, but now looks settled at D6.
Waiting an extra week to see how Rookies go is not a bad strategy. Injuries in R2 is just badluck - not a wrong strategy making no trades in R2.
The only reason for this are unforeseen injuries; Hodge, Ryder, Hurn, Enright.
It came at the wrong time just before R3 price changes.
In hindsight, your Zorko trade may look amazing but could have easily been an average trade if it weren't for his monster score. Those who kept faith in their...
I wouldn't. Taylor hasn't had a run yet, and very likely be a vest candidate (unless he plays permanent small forward).
I think Dunstan job security is the strongest of all 1st year rookies. Armitage would be get the tag before Dunstan, and this is before Hayes and Montagna come back in Round...
Your view on Robertson? If either Robertson or Taylor are the last debutant, will they be first option vest candidate?
My team is settled, but I'm not sure if it'll be a good idea to make changes to bring in Aish for MCrouch.
Interested to know your reasons behind Cunningham selection before their first game? I would have thought he would have been either a Greed/Red vest candidate. I heard the reason behind ROK, that the team needed abit more speed - but one would think he would return soon as a starter (Jack to...
The key to Swallow is, he needs to improve his DT average (has a good DT:SC ratio 1.14). If he sits around 90+ DT, he would be a good chance of 95-100ave. Round 1 was a taste of what Swallow is capable of in 2014, but I (or we) would like to see how Swallow goes when Bennell is back in the team...
Read post #105
I don't understand this. If you initially picked Swallow, and believe he can be a Top 8 (D6 Keeper) - what is the purpose of trading him out?
I'm over Swallow talk. It's like I'm repeating myself every time I get quoted.
Yes, these players have had more midfield experience and have shown it's not as simple as getting more midfield time = 100+. Heppell started in defence, and had more midfield time last year (similar situation to Swallow?)
If you said 95ish average, I wouldn't have an issue - but I'm just trying...
I think you are again missing the point.
Regardless of where Swallow is listed on SC (DEF) - those players have shown more to date, but are yet to crack the ton. If someone said Ziebell is to breakout 100+, I would agree. You can't judge on one game and predict they are going to go premium...
Optimistic you lot.
If you said 90-95, that may be achievable with the natural progression of GC as a team. Mind you, Bennell is a jet - he is yet to average 100. Prestia was impressive last year - yet to average 100. JOM is a beast.
Players around similar experience to Swallow; S.Hill...
I honestly believe you need to read post #84 again. I only intend to to get rid of Higgins and Rookies for upgrades/downgrades.
The thread is flooded with another status debate. I'm over it, I'm wrong, I have 5 mid pricers - sorry.
