Game wasn't too bad. It was a bit blowy at the Bike Track, so plenty of targets got missed by foot.
Channel weren't too bad but they just don't have the personnel. The top players are ok but their bottom half dozen is where they struggle a bit. I reckon they should win some games, against who...
About 11 I think.
Don't know a whole lot about the new guys. From what I've heard they look ok. Just some walk ins wanting a game. I think a couple might have some mates at the club though.
There was a bit of argey bargey in the opening minutes of the game as you would expect, players trying to assert themselves. A bit of push and shove, some jumper pulling and Jury has run and just decked a bloke. Knocked him out for a few seconds and he tried to get up but needed to be assisted...
Let's hope Jury gets a well deserved holiday from the tribunal this week. The Old Scholars is a great competition and one of the reasons for that is because low acts like what happened on the weekend don't happen. I would have thought coming into this comp he would have wanted to lead a bit more...
Haven't had much action on here of late.
How are clubs shaping up?
Who, where and when are clubs playing in scratch matches?
Heard big G Splann is heading down Richmond way. Certainly could play in his day. Haven't really heard too much of him the last couple of years. Could be handy.
Well apparently the Administration (the actual football club) and the Players have operated separately for a year or two. The people in charge saw that it was the right direction for the Football club. A situation that, to me and surely many others, is ridiculous.
Players would sell grog at the...
Heard of a couple of different times since the Premiership was won when the Hutchins boys failed to be gracious in victory...again. Who do you guys think you are? There is a right way and a wrong way to go about things. Yes, winning a premiership gives you bragging rights but please...try and do...
Britten, Burdon and Post all signed on for next year about a month and a half ago. They've all enjoyed it so much they were keen to sign. Maybe Chook Rainbird from the Farne might come and join some of his old mates for a kick
Footy11 and Officer Swanson, I couldn't agree with you more. And what kind of culture are you fostering when you bring in a player who bench coaches a team in another comp and can only play a handful of games. Yes he is a good player but at what cost to the club culture. I'd be really pissed if...
The Gospel...Post and Collis the only real losses for St Virgils!...give us a spell! Batchelor and Beck would be the Full Back and Centre Half Back in an Old Scholars Association Team.
I rate the Beans against Uni, I reckon they will knock them off. Interested to see how big Hogan goes second game in.
DOSA, yes, far too good for Channel, will beat them by a lot.
Richmond have Daft and Barwin coming back, can't see them getting beaten by OHA. I reckon they'll win by...
When you said Boon out for 6 weeks I thought "here we go, who has he belted now?". I read on to realise you were taking the piss.
His highly classed debut for Hutchins was a pre season game that saw him suspended for belting someone.
I think Hutchins will be around abouts this year, judging by their first two outings at least.
They were good against the Saints for the first half but the Saints were able to run away with it a bit in the end. Obviously yesterday was a good result for them.
Its great to see Uni get it in...
Sounds about right. Reckon Richmond will beat the Ships by more than that though.
Just jumping on the Jack Boon anti-bandwaggon. I heard last week at the Saints v Hutchins game that, when asked for the $5 entry fee, rolling in to the ground in his big BMW, he replied 'I don't have it'. He...
I think the interesting game will be between Channel and Richmond to see how Channel are going to go this season after recruiting a few numbers. Uni should fix up DOSA and Saints should do the same to Hutchins.
Can't wait for the season to begin. Lots of talk been going on during the...
Uni have had a heap on the track for the last 11 pre seasons. Although having good numbers early on is great for footy clubs, you have to have quality also. I'm not saying Uni don't have quality but numbers on the track is not much of a guide as to how well a club is going to go that season...
