Usually the new AFL logos and names are filed as trade mark applications by the AFL on the Australian Trade Marks Register before releasing them to the public. That is, with the exception of the cult names made by fans (e.g. Flagmantle which they TM later before others start using them to make money). For example, all the Tassie TM applications were filed before the public announcements. So I am surprised if this is the new GC logo, there is not already a TM application on the Register?

Logic says that if it was on the AFL website then it’s the logo, I’d be furious if I was the club at the AFL’s Incompetence
Maybe this leak was a bit of a tester to get a feel of the public's reaction? Maybe they have 2 in the can and ready to go, depending on the reception to this one?
