Just going out on a limb but don't reckon the Club is going to bin the container load of jumpers and merchandise that they're already selling out of the Suns Shop. But no reason it won't evolve quickly.Premier League clubs make millions out of ensuring their kits are different every year. The Suns logo in red is going to be impossible to see on TV as nice as it looks in PR shots.I'm surprised there isn't more Gold given it is Gold Coast not Red Coast
That’s true, but they could announce the gold logo & waves as our away strip, and then after a few rounds of everyone likely hating the all red design, just adopt it for home games too.

They can sell the red guernsey and all the merchandise still while fixing the guernsey for next year.

Well the hipster lads and teenage boys I’ve shown the logo to today think it’s great.
It’s triggered the oppos on social media too which is great because they are the boring establishment.

I am the King of sack Evans around these parts but today I say well done Mark. You can never please everyone but in the metrics that I use you have nailed it.

Hey guys forgive the intrusion.

Just wanted to say that I think the new jumper is pretty good. I actually like the fact that the club has fully embraced the colour red. No other club in the comp has red as a stand alone colour.

I think this has the potential to become a really strong AFL brand. Maybe 'Reds' or 'Red Army' could be adopted as unofficial nicknames much like 'Bloods' is with Sydney.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Good luck next year.

Found it odd that both senior coaches Damian Hardwick and Cameron Joyce weren’t there this morning.

Also a bit concerned about Charlie Rowbottom who wasn’t there either - I hope I am wrong but I have fears she is gone come the trade period. Her absence this morning doesn’t build my confidence that she will stay unfortunately. Nervous times ahead.

Word is that she's more likely staying, even though swans are chasing her. Unless something changes.

One thing I really like about the new red jumper is the front it is not too busy. The sponsors up the top, then the subtle logo.

The one colour dominates, which is good. Subtle logos are good. We know it is there. If we win, others will too. Good. After looking at it a few times, big tick from me

The yellow logo would look a bit, you know, yellow and a bit busy, like the clash jumper looks busy.
That is fine and suspect it will grow on me, but happy with the main jumper.

I did re-listen Evans's interview. He did say it's a 'first iteration' of guernsey. So, more colour combinations probably coming. Question is when. In a couple of years?

Like a lot of our beginnings the first jumper was a rush job
Slapped together like a cheap circus costume
All “colour and movement dahling “as the panto queens like to say
This re-branding shows a lot of considered thought
Plenty to build on
Plenty to like
A much more mature iteration
Boohoo though
No 19th century hoops or sashes or heraldic shields on breast pockets
I mean surely nothing says winning in 2025 more than prancing out on a footy ground looking like a pack of jacked jockeys in gaudy silks right?

The most exciting thing for me out of the rebrand is to shake off the legacy of failure. To walk out on the ground in a new strip that’s bold and has a bit of IDGAF attitude about it allows the club to say we have grown up, under estimate us at your peril

Let’s ****ing go

Confirmed that we are in our red era right now. Unofficially the 'Reds' in the AFL. If Carlton can be the 'Blues' then why can't we be the 'Reds'?

For those who don't know, PBC are known as the 'Reds' and we have a few players from PBC on our list. Here is Will Graham wearing their jumper when he was a PBC Red:

It can make sense if you want it to make sense.

I wonder given the turning over a new leaf for a new era, and rebranding everything to change from the past - Does that mean a new song?

Personally I think the song is elite.

They played it while unveiling the giant jumper, so I would say no

20241116_113230.jpg love that for sydney.. the guernsey design is good, the sooner we incorporate the gold logo and waves the better, turns it into a 8/10 kit.. think it's currently a 4/10.

Still liking the logo, when it's on white it looks maron, not any of the shades of red we have on the guernsey but like some of the hoodys we have. It seems like we haven't decided yet and still playing the field? But looks like it will wear well on a golf course, corporate events or the casual hoodies

Finally, what happened to alfreds apparel? Cause I'm guessing they didn't touch this?

I honestly wouldn’t be super surprised if we see a few more of this type of one-colour design in the coming years. Even as alts or away strips - some of them in the previous post ⬆️ look great. Tradition be damned, stripes, hoops, and sashes are boring as hell
Finally somebody said it!
Why the heck is the AFL world so interested in tradition?
Same with a twilight grand final , F**k tradition, make it a spectacle
