I could pick faults too.

Petrie poor kick for goal, likes to wrestle or fly for pack marks.

Ben Brown- lead under the ball to easily, lays a tackle a game has no defensive pressure.

Hansen - only good when able to play loose, poor decision maker when he has the ball in play. Ordinary goal kicker when forward.

Tarrant- failed forward who has come good down back.

The above is pointing out the worst of very good footballers. It is easy to do, Maj is good enough to be on our senior list, the list of a club that hasnt tasted success in a very long time. I still can't work it out.

His last game against the Tigers showed enough to suggest whoever we get as our new back up ruck wont be able to impact a game like Maj.

But by all means keep trying to explain his departure, although you aren't helping :p

Like I said, we had already had the number of list changes required to meet the afl critera. We could have retained maj and maybe, maybe IF he was found guilty of the charges and maybe IF he was sentenced to a custodial term would have gone into next season with a man down. We failed to use all players on the list this year and any other long term injuries would be allowed a rookie upgrade anyway. People wanted Carlisle with a possible wada ban that could be 2 years on the list, so why not retain maj.

We will re-rookie him. Delisting is only a risk mitigation exercise. All will be good in the end. He will be a key to our team from 2017 onwards

I hope you are right as I too want Daw re-rookied. However sources from inside NMFC indicate that we are meeting Jamar, Cordy and one other back up ruckman (probably Gorringe?). If one cuts the mustard, it doesn't look good for Daw ......

Cordy?!?!?! ****S SAKE.

Not being completely around his trials and charges, can someone explain to me how he is being charged with 3 counts of rape from this single (alleged) incident?

"NORTH Melbourne hopes to bolster its ruck depth at next Friday's rookie draft, by returning delisted big man Majak Daw to the club.

Daw was cut from the Kangaroos' list in October but with the expectation of rejoining the club as a rookie.

The Sudanese-born 24-year-old is set to face trial on Monday after being charged with three counts of rape. The alleged incident took place in 2007 when he was 16 and he has pleaded not guilty.

His presence back at the club would be welcomed given the slimming down of the club's ruck department when Daniel Currie moved to Gold Coast in search of increased opportunity.

Speaking on the club's radio station NMFC ON-AIR, football and list manager Cameron Joyce reiterated its commitment to select Daw".

Firstly still makes zero sense and secondly as someone who's never been involved in a Court case, am assuming this could/would take a while?

The only way it makes sense is that the club didn't want to keep him on the main list and give up the chance of getting another speculative draftee in. The stupid AFL rule that requires de-listing rather than direct demotion to the rookie list is what drives this illogical path to retaining player that you only want on the rookie list.

Daw would be a very good FF.

The fact that our current FF is 33 and we have very little coming through is a problem.

If he was a very good FF he would already be playing in our 1s.

There is a spot there, it just hasn't been taken. Drew is better upfield than close to goal, always has been.

Brown has worked a spot for himself in the manner Daw could have, but he's blown his chances so far hence delisted.

If anything he is unlucky to be behind the best ruck in the league who doesn't need a sidekick, as that is where he could have got more games at a different club.

oh for FFs Brown was shithouse for long periods last season. And is probably the worst ruck I've ever seen, we should go with four mids instead.

Don't mind Brown but had enough of people saying he's gunna be, Brown is miles off.

Brown is a lot better player than Daw at the present time. Plus he isn't a ruck so what are you talking about?

He had his down games sure, but is a far better prospect long term and been very impressive for a late/mature pick with so little experience and no decent pre-season.

Even knowing you are a massive Daw fan I don't understand how you can't see the clear difference in what they offer (or don't offer more importantly), but that's cool.

The fact that he kicked 32 goals in a 'shithouse' season should be indication enough that the talent is there. He's on the plane to Utah now for his first AFL pre season. Watch the rapid improvement come.

And Petrie kicked more than 40 goals for the fifth consecutive season but apparently he's average ...

... I'm handwaving every other season prior to that ...

...........finally over the knee issue which hindered his entire campaign in 2015 also I imagine. I can't wait to see him fully fit. Remember the muscle he put on last preseason? He could be a bloody Adonis by Feb 2016, and one able to run unencumbered.

But that isnt fair to the player.....clubs would in some way exploit the rule to a point where it wouldnt benefit some players.
