Hopefully get an answer in the injury update this evening if he was just freshened up or had a niggle as to why he didn't play VFL on the weekend.

anyone else reckon he should be groomed as inside mid? his role as a forward is sort of redundant imo, how many great 3rd tall forwards are there with his attributes? jeremy cameron is great but a very different build. and even then, is a small key forward a worthwhile use of his tools? feels like his aggression and explosiveness would be best used around the stoppages.

reckon it's our biggest area of need and he's all the attributes to solve it.

He'd need to improve his fitness tenfold. I haven't seen a big enough sample size of his vision in close quarters, which is very important for an inside mid. Certainly a bull though, I've often wondered how Hurley would go as a mid, especially now that he's trimmed down so much.

He plays well in defence, and he will play well forward. If he can build his tank enough for either of those positions then they might look at midfield minutes, but he's no good in the midfield if he's only around for a few minutes each quarter. Experience at both ends will make him a better mid anyway, if he ends up there.

well how unfit was jobe early on? he wound up one of the best mids in the afl from 2009-14.

The key will be Francis holding up to the level of training required - Jobe carried a bit of puppy fat but didn't have many injuries and worked his arse off in the gym with a large amount of boxing training with Greg Williams helping him out. Francis could try the same but has had injury issues already - calf and groin which make it harder for him to train at really high intensity.

He plays with a carefree attitude. A junior footballer still coasting around doing what he wants.

Needs to seriously work on his fitness to be considered for the seniors, that is a long wy off.

You can't question his ability, its bleedingly obvious. The pack marks, the agility, the disposal when it comes off but boy does he have some work to do.

With the seniors going as well as they are, the fwd 3rd role he plays is redundant hence id like to see him moved to his customary 3rd tall defensive role he dominated at in junior footy.

Going to be a slow burn with this guy but gee if/when it clicks, we'll have a player.
