I think that you could bet your house that if he stays fit then McKercher will be a gun. It's just a matter of whether he's a fringe player on the AA squad or a regular in the 22. And that will be all about how damaging he gets with his disposal.
He was the go to player to handball to to release run and then punch to HF. He will be the most damaging player we have by foot. His combo of endurance, speed and deadly kicking over 35m will mean he will rarely need to take chances kicking 45+.

I still think he could end up the best of all of them.

Not to mention he’s set the standards for training so far so he’s doing everything he can to explode knowing he’ll get a midfield spot next year.

huuuge call, considering Sheez has pretty much broken most records in his first two years...
were spoilt at the moment.

I know, I know, Sheez is a freak and it wouldn't be a slight on him at all. Just always felt Kerch can really be anything and he's jumped in gung ho.

Do you remember watching the Eagles play with Cousins, Judd and Kerr and at any moment any of them would play like the best player in the comp?

you could add Wardlaw into that conversation as well.
My guess is he'll be the one opposition fans will love to hate, cause he'll play 5 minutes and turn a game.

I didn't want to be greedy because I also have LDU there as well. Gonna be a lot of shared Brownlow votes.

I know and have given that some thought, BUT we have Sheez, Kerch, LDU plus Wardlaw and Duursma, not to mention this year's draft AND AND AND....who knows with B George...club has shown some faith in him....(not to mention I still think Will Phil can be elite, and Goater as well)......Honestly believe the core is there. It's better than the Lions high end talent through the draft!!!!

A fair chunk of his turnovers were him trying to create something with a whole lot of stagnant team-mates around him.

If you had plonked him into a good side and system his first year would be being talked about way more.
Let’s see how he goes in open play , running through the middle

He plays wing /middle and he’ll kick over 20 goals for the year

That AND AND AND is as speculative as it gets.

The same three players, by my (admittedly pessimistically inclined) money:

Goater: 50/50
BG: 25/75 after 2 ACLS. The medical treatment might be better these days, but multiple ACLs usually means wasted potential, and I'm not willing to predict him to buck that trend, though I'd obviously love for him to do it
Phillips: Not a chance in hell of elite status for the simple reason that he'd need to have Sam Mitchell's extraction ability and quick brain and has neither

You’d take Shagga’s deadly left foot from anywhere inside the 50 wouldn’t you. Loved his kicking at goal……..except that stupid one against the pies
I rushed home to watch the final 5 minutes of that game. It was probably the start of my 'we haven't won until the siren/song has rung' phase.

Hopefully Sonic et al are part of a new 'we haven't lost until the final siren/song' phase.

He got a 50 virtually on the 50 metre arc which the umpire then inexplicably marched to the top of the square. In true NM fashion he then hit the post and we manage to lose a game we have largely dominated while kicking 10.18

This it was the top of the goal square. Shoulda been on goal line BUT 10m out shoulda been enough too.
