Needed a spell in the magoos a few weeks back to regain his touch and boost his confidence. Missed a similar shot vs Carlton in the last qtr and it didnt come back to bite us.

Although some of Weid's general contest work in the second half was solid enough. But those types of goal opportunities are bread and butter for competent, consistent forwards.

No but Voss will be delisted at end of year. Lol. Scott backs him in. Haha this bloke wouldn’t even get a kick at local footy. Soft as they come

I wouldn't be. Scott keeps banging on about structure, and it goes out without the two talls up front. As much as people say he they should've subbed Weid out, it would've thrown our setup out.
The structure line becomes transparent when you then sub out your crumbers.
Scott bros ego overrides structure imo.

Whether he makes it is entirely on him.

We shouldn't be going after Scott for the defence of his player. He is giving Weid the thing he has never had. An uninterrupted run at being a key forward in the senior team.
He has no one looming over his shoulder, his form has been trash and the coach is still publicly standing in front of the arrows for him.

This is what good coaching is, it's all at the feet of the player. Weid has the tools, it's all mental with him.
It may not matter and the kid is going to flame out, well there is our vfl key forward if that happens.
But in a year when we are very publicly saying that we are finding out what this team can and can't do we are doing just that and the coach is sticking to it.
We had the same thing with Hep, people screeching for him to be dropped. He's played pretty well since then.
We did the same thing with Wright when he first came across. Backed him in and once he realized he was THE guy he turned into the key forward we needed.

Sending him to the vfl will be exactly what has caused his issues as it's exactly what has happened in the past at Melbourne, even after a good game he'd be dropped.

We are doing the right thing here, maybe this was the week that it all ends but to be honest this backing him in stance should be expected as it's the type of coaching decision that if he is going to make it will be the key to getting there.

When he lined up, I had zero confidence he would kick that. Ascendency killer.
I said to wifey as he was lining up this could go anywhere.

He is at Carlisle forward level confidence atm. Doesn't actually want the ball. Find another role for him or drop him. He's not going to build confidence by doing the same thing each week and pretending it's not a problem. Everyone with two eyes can see it is.

Bit hard when ur double teamed. Weid doesn’t support him what so ever.
He has been playing poorly but how is it his fault his man leaves him and our players still kick the ball to Wright ? There was actually a few times he was clear but they never even looked that way. It was just bomb to Wright in a contest.

On top of that sending to the VFL causes other issues. With the injuries we have limited choices.
Play Bryan in the ruck with Flipper but they have to share the forward load as well which is probably the best option but has its issues.
Play Voss but then Wright has to play second ruck and we end up with 3 medium forwards who lack a bit of pace and are not massive contested marking options.
Play another small forward but then we still have to rely on Wright rucking or playing a second ruck.
