Fair to say I haven’t seen much of his VFL work but I’ve always considered him pretty serviceable at league level. That being said if he’s disinterest and unloved at GC I’d still be happy to get him for nothing. He simply cannot be worse than the Weid can he?I can concur . Chol was not great today and has not been great in the VFL. He is a bit of a plodder.
He probably could not but given Weid has a contract we will most likely stick with him . Every club needs a whipping boy.Fair to say I haven’t seen much of his VFL work but I’ve always considered him pretty serviceable at league level. Was looking through the gallery for the weekend's game and came across these (among others);

Yes you can almost hear his brain saying "Oh no it's happening again"No one tries to miss on purpose BUT his body language when he misses is very bad and quite telling from a psychological point of view.
Sometimes with forwards I reckon they are so scared of missing set shots that they drop marks.
I wondered the same.Why is Menzie flying for the mark in the first series... not playing the percentages there as a smaller player....
Then next up you have Phillips and Weideman taking each other out.
We're really not a smart football side are we?
Chol doesn’t have a competitive bone in his body. Plays well when it’s on his terms. Won’t crash packs and make a contest thoughFair to say I haven’t seen much of his VFL work but I’ve always considered him pretty serviceable at league level. Flipper did that in the Blues game as well.Was looking through the gallery for the weekend's game and came across these (among others);

I guess he also has to adjust to the four tall structure as well (KPF+ruck obvs), rather than having a tall forward somewhere up the ground trying to be a marking target or whatever, and having either himself or Draper as the only beanpole in the goal square.Flipper did that in the Blues game as well.
It is certainly a work in progress with all the tall forwards and rucks. Lets face it none of the combos have really played a lot of footy with each other.I guess he also has to adjust to the four tall structure as well (KPF+ruck obvs), rather than having a tall forward somewhere up the ground trying to be a marking target or whatever, and having either himself or Draper as the only beanpole in the goal square.
Yeah, I think they want the two towers up front, when Draper was fit he had games where he spent a lot of time forward. I think Flip also probably played a lot forward when they were both fit when previously he'd be on the bench.So what you’re saying is we needed at least as many talls as we had, not less, to stretch Port’s defence?
Is Flip threatening enough to do that or do we need Draper + Wright in the forward line against that sort of opponent? At that point I guess Weid and Flip fight for the last spot.
Or perhaps we might’ve tried three talls in the forward line + 1 ruck, if we’d ever had the opportunity Wright Weid and Hunter with Draper in the middle is intriguing… might just get in each others way.
I wouldn't mind if we picked a bit of youth.We should be making no changes if everyones fit from the 23
I think have worked it out! Needs to keep his eyes open when he is trying to take a mark so that he can see the football.Was looking through the gallery for the weekend's game and came across these (among others);

They all seem to do that I guess having rain falling in your eyes, hands waving around your face trying to gouge them out, and a ball about to smack you in the nose would make you want to close them... but yeah. For a club with something of a marking problem you'd think they'd try to keep their eyes open in the attempt.I think have worked it out! Needs to keep his eyes open when he is trying to take a mark so that he can see the football.
Stir up? We can play youth if we lose the next 2-3I wouldn't mind if we picked a bit of youth.
YesHey guys.
Does Sam Weideman have Tom Cutler's eggs?
