I think you people are quick to judge these girls as irresponsible. Contraception isn't always 100%.

Settle down now. I am a staunch pro-choice supporter and I am not judging anybody. However, I am not naive enough to realise that there are definitely many cases that abortion has been a choice after an irresponsible act of no precaution being used beforehand.

Of course contraception can fail, two forms of contraception can fail even, but that is not what I mean. I mean the people that have sex in a reckless night of passion without protecting themselves from STD's or unwanted pregnancy. Surely nobody is assuming that doesn't occur.

That is the only problem that I have, but apart from that, I am pro-choice of course.

Abortion is legal because sicence realises that scraping a few cells out of a females uterus is not ending a life. Drawing a line in the sand using subjective moral guidlines is arrogant rubbish.

I couldnt be bothered reading this thread but who gives a stuff about abortion? Theres already too many people in the world and they're a lot easier to kill when they're still foetuses than after they're fully grown.

F uck, just have a look at some of the specimens walking around the suburban shopping centres next time you have a chance (if you're game enough to risk your health in one.) Frightening. But then again they would probably choose to keep breeding like rabbits anyway so it doesnt really help us, only dilutes the gene pool even more.

But it is a tough question. At what point does the foetus become an intelligent being. But just reading through some of milo's posts I realised there are still plenty of humans who dont qualify as intelligent beings. So who could give a f uck. Start scraping uteruses.

I don't know if any exceptions can be made by law because it's impossible to prove that pregnancy was caused by contraception failure or recklessness, but there could be more education and availability for the morning-after pill.

Responsibility is something that cannot be forced because there will always be stupid people that don't have the ability to think ahead, but something could be done for the people that sit on the borderline. The diseases that these people may still contract is another matter of course.

Good idea in theory, but who decides who can have a licence and who cant? Seems like the path to eugenics by proxy.

I would rather see a 2-child policy implemented so that each couple reproduces at the rate of 1 child per person. This way the population would remain constant. Maybe those unable or unwilling to have children could trade or sell their allotment.

However this is too close to totalitarianism and Communist China for my liking. And so unfortunately we must let nature and evolution take its course and pray in vain that it will "sort itself out." Hell, maybe it already is. Global warming anyone? Its like the Earth inducing a fever in order to kill off the germs/virus that has infected it. Thats all we are is a virus with shoes.
