Personally I don't see spud or McMahon in our top 22. McMahons pace is a real shocker - time for spud to retire and maybe trade McMahon.

Was very evident how much quicker the back line looked without Spud and McMahon.
Except Adelaide are out of the first two rounds this year. If they were trading it would have to be players. And I'd reckon their priority would be to trade back into the draft anyway, wouldn't it? IIRC, it was speculation based on an old Tasmanian connection.I'd put them all on the table as they all have plenty to offer just not with us in 2014 and beyond.
Grima would get us a decent pick IMO.
Adelaide might give us a early-mid 20's pick for him with a bit of luck.
I'm not prepared to write off McMahon yet. He has some excellent qualities that haven't been on show this year, mainly because he apparently has been eating all his teammates lunches when they aren't looking.
Spud. Hmm, probably as much as what Scott thinks in terms of his age whether he is done or not.
Grima is a top class defender when he is close to 100% fit. Ridiculous to get rid of him. If however he wants to move back to SA then obvious trade bait. McMahon is worth keeping for his experience but should not be an automatic 22 player anymore. If Spud wants to play on then let him, he's been a warrior and deserves another year. Getting rid of heart and soul type players can negatively effect the group, just ask the D's who specialize in doing this.
Good see a few new faces in the backline doing ok the past couple of weeks.

Spud and McMahon have played alot of games in some pretty ordinary sides tbh, great servants, but could you imagine any of them making the side in the 90's? I don't think so.
But this isnt a bad thing I would want the Grima /Keys rotation often next year for a better transition for Delaney when Grima is finished.Grima should continue to be rested and managed.
He is easily better than delahney

Gibbo is consistently good for us and is currently deservedly in our best 22.As for LA v Gibbo - both won't be part of our next top team so its irrelevant. Both are depth only and will be phased out.

"But I think like I do with all players; we'll sit down and discuss their form, their fitness, how they think they're travelling, their motivation to play on and I think we'll come to a mutual decision."
I reckon he's gone.
