Disconnect between those inside the bubble think the public want to hear from and who we actually do, the latter would be a lot cheaper too.

As an SEN listener this is not good. He will feature on wide world of sports as a guest like Lethal, Richo and Lloydy. But doesn't seem enough. Nobody watches ch9. Sunday footy show aswell maybe?
Here are the latest ratings. More slippage for SEN, except for breakfast, which went up slightly, even though with Wispy away for part of it

Poindexter absolutely does not need to be flown out to America to cover the Super Bowl.
He could call it from a studio and nobody would care.
Or better yet, SEN could take a feed from actual NFL commentators.

The Morning slot (Whateley) is performing really poorly given its budget for the host, contributors etc.
The same slot in Sydney is rating 0.3 - two men and their dogs.
Yeah, what a joke. As I said last time, he's probably getting paid 4 times as much as the evening people who outrate him. Sure, 9am is a much more competitive time, but still....

Finey was the main reason I listened to the station in the early days. Was by far the best timeslot. I just couldn't believe their was someone so unhinged on radio and he was never shy to bite back at a listener. Would absolutely love it if somehow he came back.

you make a valid point. Particularly in Victoria, when foreigners arrive and areeducated about the state/city, we always talk about how sports mad we are. yet run of the mill ol mate are traditionally footy/cricket double as you say. deviating from the line is uncomfortable, or outside the bubble. we've seen in society/history, people dont like "change".

He goes because of the travel company which is owned by SEN. He is used to promote and sell more packages for the following year. He hosts a few functions for them as part of the trip.
Has nothing to do with being on the ground to call the game.
Same as Merv Hughes doesnt follow the Australian Cricket Team around the world because he loves the team.
