Worked with Dave. But concussions are a different thing. Your knee is bung and it's annoying but not that bad. Your head is bung and that is a total disaster.

I understand and generally agree. If the club us sure that Griff is fine then it's a different conversation. But that many concussions from fairly simple things! Damn big risk to take - if we do.

My dad is a collingwood supporter and he is never ever happy with them, bags their players, their coaches, says wins are luck or not that good, constantly thinks they will be bottom 4.. even when they won the flag, he said "well they wont have the guts or hunger to back it up" never cheers them or anything. The only time I've ever seen him cheer his "team" was when we used to go to Richmond-Collingwood games as a kid and he used to only do that to stir me up and get me involved lol

I wouldn't necessarily call Mopsy a troll, his profile says he has been a member since 2005 and I highly doubt anyone would actually troll for that long. He is just a terrible supporter.

2005 eh and what have we achieved thats 13 yrs of nothing and still counting.
Not until they achieve something, anything can anyone argue with the criticisms.
While many have talked em up yr after yr, myself and a few others have put up with lots of crap. But at the end of the day, and this is what obviously irks people. We are proven right.

No one but a fool can argue that Assbury has been poor for the majority of the journey. It seems people do like revising history around here.
I had a look through the thread. Why are those posters who wanted to see him traded or called him nothing but depth or insurance OR admitted he was slow now on his band wagon?

People do like to flip flop when it suits it seems

Rance was poor at the start of his career, go look up all those who wanted him gone back then and I feel like most if not all will have changed their minds, things change and so do people's opinions.

theres a few differences between the way Rance tracked and Astbury. This is Astbury,s 8th season.Yes it has been a good one but up till now it did not stop people on this thread demand he be traded.It did not stop criticism of his pace or his inability to keep his feet.
One good season and it seems some turn turtle and become holier than thou.

Dont get me started on Rance ive copped so much crap from those holier than thou defenders of all things richmond because i dared to point out he was poor and he was poor in more than one area. I still think hes a little suspect in a particular area but i will leave that for others to sort out for themselves and avoid the inevitable abuse that will come my way.

You haven't been proven right at all this year. You didn't even have us making finals

He's had a good year, the team has to this point. The whole backline has clicked, everyone plays their role. I mean, just look at the facts

Hmm believe my prediction has consistently been somewhere between 7th and 14th. So yes i was wrong but unlike yur assertion i did indeed think finals a possibility.

In fact the style we are playing is the complete opposite to what he always calls us to do "talks, talks and more talks" even if they're shit and a liability we must select talls just for the sake of it.

Christ mate, no players perfect. If your waiting for a fault free footballer to arrive at Richmond it won't be until the second coming.

But still a supporter. Just does it differently.

I don't agree with him or have much nice to say about him but I'll respect his right to support the club the way he feels appropriate. Just that I won't be reading it thanks to the ignore function.

na your pissed off because some of us despite ladder position are not afraid to criticise.
Yep we did finish 3rd but it could just as easily have been no finals at all.

Is it? wow thats a real nice bit of spin. Even the coaches have said we need a second tall fwd they also acknowledge the need for a ruck fwd type as well.
what they fail to see is the need to have enough tall players on the list for injury depth and development.
If you think we have these areas covered good for you keep your head in the sand.Dont think i have ever advocated we play a side that lacks pace what i have advocated is we play sides that are well balanced and give us a bit of everything and just a little bit more height in the fwd half.

The only extra talls i have asked for all yr and we get games into them was Moore Chol,elton on a rotational basis and Griffiths despite thinking him a dud.
We tried Elton and it did not work out. We played Griffiths and he performed to his usual poor standard so i suggested we play Moore as a third tall type instead of relying on Caddy to play the role.

I wonder if any one here has the grace to bring up game day teams i have selected all yr instead of taking piss poor cheap shots from the rafters.

That is the same for every other club in the competition. Look at the dogs this year.

If you seriously expect a team that is absolutely no chance of ever missing finals than you'll be forever disappointed.

Dont believe i have said any player is or should be perfect. I think you need to read the last few pages and get things into proper perspective or improve your comprehension skills.

Heya folks. Just finished this article on the Astbury family's contribution to the Tatyoon club that David started his footy at.
Had a chat to his mum and thought you folks might be interested in some of the backstory behind how David got into footy.
Great family, regularly see David up this way watching his sister and cousins play netball and always says hi.
