OK, I've removed about three pages of posts.

Please do not use this thread to speculate about Oliver's private life – medical or otherwise.

Regardless of the veracity of your rumour, or what you know/have heard, if it's not public knowledge, just don't post it.

I don't want to turn this place into Demonland, but if you can't see the potential harm that this sort of rumour-spreading can cause (regardless of your intentions), then perhaps it's best if you take a bit of a break.

Thanks.

Whats going on with his legs , his thighs look weird too.
Am i missing something here? Much better nick than the start of the season. Or are people just bagging him out fishing for likes? I don't see a problem with how he's come back. People bagging him out at the start of the week because he wasn't there Day 1 of Year 1-4 players, yet no praise when he shows up over a week early for training.

There is an absolute obsession with negativity with most things MFC around here. Clarry is a favourite target.

What mentality are you referring to? I don't think anyone has said he's come back in great shape at all. If they have i haven't seen it.
That's the problem, he hasn't come back in great shape at all and yet we've got supporters patting him on the back and saying what a fantastic bloke he is for turning up to training.

If this was Jack Billings or Tom Fullarton turning up in this exact same state, supporters would be demanding they would be delisted on the spot.

Pardon the pun but Oliver is chewing up a million a year of our salary cap to not only turn up looking like Lance Whitnall but to show to everyone that he hasn't done the work over the off season.

Yeah the standards for what a supposed top 10 player in the league should look like don't exist at Melbourne and it's supporters. Now he gets a pat on the back for the bare minimum.

Why does it need to be positive lol absolutely cringe. We haven't won a final in years, everyone at the club got sacked except the coach, Clarets a fat w***er and Trac wanted to leave.

Woo wave the nuffy flags

The club gave him that contract knowing these issues. It's on the club equally as much as Clayton. Looking at photos, he is nowhere near as bad as what people are making out. Again, he's showing up early, been seen training with others, lost some of that weight around the gut, has kept out of trouble over the break. The obsession is laughable. Becoming worse than Demonland lol

Yep, the club has gotten off absolutely scott free on here. Don't recall them criticized once ever for Olivers contract.

Ngl i would tune into 7's commentary next year if Kane live on air during the match roasts under performing players on long term contracts

I think Kane has mentioned it once, but the contract is on the club. I lol everytime a nuff blames Clarry for his contract or blames him for being a million dollar player. That's on the club. Lamb gets off Scott free yet Clarry cops all the blame when we handed a player with clear issues a mil contract and expect him to become this ripped Adonis who can just lose all his issues off field lol.

I was being sarcastic mate - did you just not read this board this year and see how much Lamb copped it?

He signed the contract in the middle of 2022 and went on to:

1) win his second AFL Coaches Champion Player of the Year in back to back years
2) won the club BnF for the 4th time in his career (4th win in 6 years)
3) got his 3rd All Australian jacket (3 times in 5 years)
4) won medals for being voted BoG for Anzac Eve and Queen's Birthday
5) wins a couple of media awards for being league MVP in 2022

Clarry earned the contract. Everything he had shown up until he signed the deal in mid-2022 demonstrated that he was worthy of a long-term big money deal.

Long term contracts are risky, but signing Clarry was not a blunder by Tim Lamb. The current market does not have top flight proven players signing 2-3 year extensions (except those trying to manage their free agent eligibility). Every other club at the time would have been thrilled to lock him in on a 7 year/$7 million deal.

Sarcasm is very hard to read. Either way i lay blame at the club for the contract. Clarry was fantastic in 2022, rubbish in 2023. I'll judge him at the end of season not 4 months prior lol
