Sliding doors moment for Liam today, missed the first and then nailed the next two. You can only imagine the outrage if he missed the other two and we lost. Really happy for him today and hope it gives him some confidence to go on.

Not to mention the massive amount of pressure on him. Any player would be feeling the pressure at that point of the game, but Liam moreso than anyone. Be tough for him knowing so many (including his own 'supporters') want him to fail.

Unfortunately Liam will never be acknowledged by some Carlton supporters, but they're the same ones who want to change coach every couple of years & still think John Elliot was badly treated by the club.

Our forward entries for much of the first half were disgraceful. Jones didn't even get an opportunity to lead onto a pass from his teammates. No surprise that as our forward entries became a little bit cleaner, Jones came into his own & nailed 2 crucial goals in the last quarter. For some reason though, I have this nagging feeling that some Carlton supporters were willing Jones to miss all of his shots on goal so they could say "I told you so". To those supporters, suffer in your jocks.

Seriously some people have NFI:mad:

Liam doesn't play an AFL game for 12 months, busts his ass at training and in the 2's and takes a bit of time to pick up the pace .... so shoot him:drunk:

Plays a good 2nd half, marks strongly, kicks goals and wins the game for us ...... but hey lets drop him, he's still not good enough.

Like I said NFI

Needs to get upfield and look for the ball when it is quiet. Even Levi does that. However 2 clutch goals when we needed them is nothing to sneeze at. Hope he gets his confidence up.

Hahaha this is the most perfectly used MEME ever!!!!

Hahahaha.

Thought him and Casboult looked pretty ordinary for most of the game
Credit where it is due he did kick 2 late and won us the game
Thanks Liam, made everyone at Subiaco in Navy Blue pretty damn happy

Sitting behind the goals, I was puzzled by the forward line setup, never was a forward, but rather an ugly midfielder in the mound of Curnow but with half the heart and my skills were worse (pretty ordinary heh)
So why do the big forwards line up within 5-10metres of each other about 30-40m out in the corridor - forces every lead to the boundary line - why don't they start on the flanks and spread the defense?
Is it all about limiting the rebound from defense? Our leading patterns are non existent

Nup. Think we need to draw a line under the past crimes of posters. Except mine of course. Healthy to look forward and back the boys in from here.

Didn't position himself well once or twice but otherwise competed OK. Was in the right spot at the end there to seal the game which is GOLD.

Oh for a midfield that could deliver the ball...

Liam did what he had to do, competed pretty well with pretty average forward fifty entries, kicked a brace and put the nail in the coffin! Good on him.
Freo fans must be feeling like I was the day Zac Dawson iced a game for the Saints. FMD........

So he didn't do a heap else and he missed the first shot, but I'm actually genuinely impressed he kicked the last two clutch shots.

The between the ears stuff has always worried me with Liam, my impression being he's a bit flaky there. But he steeled himself (sure one was from 15m out, but players do miss 'em) and kicked two very important goals. Well done Jones.
