Big opportunity now for him now to show his worth in the pre season games to push for a round 1 debut.
Spot on, you know, good or bad, things always happen for a reason, and I've got a feeling whether its Luke or someone else, that player is going to take the "bull by the horns", sorry no pun intended, {sorry Cam}. 😼

If he plays round 1, our midfield will be belted and we lose by 16 goals. He can work on his craft in the VFL and build towards getting games in 2026.
Bit harsh, the kid would compete, but you are right, he won't be in the team ahead of 7 or 8 others in the middle.
Starts in the VFL and will potentially gets a debut against a more favourable age/experience profile team later in the year.

Too conservative Chubbs, what I've seen of him during preseason, he's a genuine chance of playing sometime in the first 6 rounds.

First 6 rounds, only Demons (Rd 2) or GC (Rd 5) games stand out as one's you might debut him, but too early imo.
Good Friday debut in Rd 6 would be throwing him into the fire that's for sure. Doubt that happens.
I've seen him as well live. Nothing to do with his physical size or competitiveness, he's ready in that sense.
Fitness being at an AFL level might be one thing that obviously wouldn't be to the level just yet.
They drafted him as more of a project and want to work with him on some things at VFL level before picking him.

If the issues with his kicking are/were overblown, he'll be a genuine steal. Knows where to be and how to get there, and he hit some rippers today.
Rawlings mentioned he has improved his kicking already since being drafted so that’s a big bonus. He reminded me a bit of JHF out there. Not just the blonde hair but the power, speed and strength. Let’s hope he is better person and team mate !

I didn't know until today that Urquhart lost a lot of time through recovering from a dislocated hip.

Not an injury you hear too often (thankfully)

Pretty serious injury. Being a powerful athlete has probably helped him recover well from this. Think Maj and his injury.

Ready made body really stands out on field. Great first half and something to really build on. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get off the leash in VFL games and debut mid-late season. Also, no rush if he doesn’t. Can afford a 1-2 year apprenticeship and plenty have gone on to have great careers after serving their time.
