That and it was Dempsey ran poor beep tests, not runs.

This is what happens when you post in the middle of the night, whilst watching the Olympic Games.

Courtenay Dempsey is an absolute star. He is AA material if he played for one of the top 4 clubs. Hes a jet, and loves it when the pressures on him. My first post on this website, all i have to say is he is elite ! Cheers

mmmm-if he could bring his A game to the park week in week out then hed be AA half back flank for sure-though i guess you can say the same thign for a lot of players

Just a thought, why isnt he essendon's flashy outside mid? When stanton is tagged he goes missing.. Could dempsey pick up that role?

fitness probably a factor-
disposal hasn't always been the greatest in the past though certainly improving-
probably something that may be looked at in the future

Seems to run games out pretty well...

His disposal under pressure lately has been beast like

ZaharakisFTW - quality name, a good mate of mine aswell is David, absolutely loved that 2009 Anzac day clash.

Always provides a spark especially later in games, been great this year.

You could nearly say Dempsey is in our "Top 5 Most Important players"

robbing Peter to pay Paul scenario. I want at least *one* above average deliverer of the ball from defence when Fletch is gone, so no. Play him across HB. That's where he belongs

With the addition of the flying Dutchman, BJ, Ashby and the upgrading of Baguley, we have enough HB types to give Dempsey more midfield time.

van Unen: solid disposal
BJ: playing midfield
Ashby: recruited to play midfield iirc
Baguley: nothing special by foot.

Dempsey will play HB, it's just stupid to take our next general down back away (see Adelaide game) to fill a role we don't need him to fill

I never said they were depth- I said they were nothing special by foot. We upgraded Baguley so we could put Steinberg on the rookie list, and I don't know why we recruited the flying dutchman- you may be right, you may be wrong

Wasn't disposal touted as one of bag's major strength pre draft?
His kicking isn't awful, but I remember that being talked up quite a bit (although that may have just been his goal kicking when playing forward)

One area we obviously identified as a weakness was across half back.. Hence the drafting of mature aged players (Hibberd, Baguley, DVU) and young defenders (Heppel as a HB to start his career! Ashby will probably start there, Ross pre delisting was being groomed as a HBF.

Bags is a solid kick- nothing more, nothing less

I think Bags' problem is his limitation, sometimes he thinks he is Josh Drummond when he is only Mark Baguley. Over possess' and often tries to much. Did turn it ovrer a few times when kicking it in for Bendigo last year, trying to pinpoint passes instead of opting for the percentage kick.
