There are some players that seemingly have all of the ingredients that make up a very good footballer. If they don't end up a very good footballer, it's most likely a mental thing. This is Courtenay Dempsey to a T.

They finished 8th and 3 games off the next best in the home and away season and in fact closer to 12th than 7th. Added to that, who they actually defeated and at what stage of the season they defeated them.

It's all subjective but North were merely making up the numbers. I call that mediocre.

7th is Essendon's best finish in 10 seasons. That's mediocre ergo we've had a mediocre list. I believe we have a better than mediocre list now.

Yes, and Colyer belongs on our list regardless. His 2014-15 were very good.

To be honest, I am finding it really difficult trying to put him in the best 22. I personally don't rate him as an a-grade footballer but he does have 1 quality we need - leg speed.

He is most definitely in the 22 and it's not a close run thing either. He was among our best players prior to going down in 2015. It's not 2012 anymore.

Anyway, we probably should leave that for Trav's thread, this is Dempsey's.

Thought Kommer showed some signs in the last few games i wouldn't be opposed to giving him 1 last crack it next season.

I would sooner a player that gives it his all and is 100% committed, e.g. Kommer or Hams, another opportunity, than someone with a history of laziness who hasn't really turned it around, i.e. Dempsey.

A word that tends to apply more commonly to Langford I think, whom I wouldn't call lazy or mediocre. Although that's a topic for another thread.

He has turned up to pre-seasons overweight. He was suspended for partying when he was supposed to be recovering from an injury. He loves the Club, but the 100% commitment to his profession hasn't been there (in my personal opinion).
