Really looking forward to this afternoon. Big crowd, great weather, and at the home of footy - VISY PARK. At least the Lions get to play on a dry ground, rather than the swimming pool they encountered in Canberra two weeks ago.
Hopefully they still haven't found their feet and we give them a pumping.

just heard on the radio they expect 15'000+ at todays game!!

Members get in for free as well! :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
will never happen... and if it does... then it would've been 25k had they not scheduled the game at a time where most people are at work... i would love to have seen it... but can't

my prediction is 5k

About 3,000-5,000 people showed up for the intraclub match. Chuck in another club and we have more supporters there, not to mention the Brisbane supporters.

I could have saved a few dollars if I knew he was playing us in Melbourne
I bought my plane tickets ages ago to watch him in Brisbane. Not sure how I am going to react when I see him in a Brisbane jumper.Be interesting how Blues supporters will react

It will be something like this. Ahem.

"Piss of Fev, you old, drunk twat!"

That alright?

can anyone help me out with where to park near the oval? I havent been there for so long! do they provide parking still? I used to do the dodgey and get fined everytime! dont forget the bold and the beautiful on at 4pm channel 10 too!

Parking is really a matter of pot luck. I wonder if they will let people park in the surrounds like they used to, they'd make some extra bucks, but probably don't have the infrastructure for it any more.

The best bet would be to park at a distance and tram or walk it the rest of the way, but where is the question!

You might be lucky and jag a spot along Bowen Cres/Garton St if someone is leaving their spot after finishing work for the day, but all the other streets on that side of the ground are permit zone from memory. On the day of the intra-club game I was lucky and got the last available spot along there, doubt I'll be so lucky today :(

Looking forward to heading out there this afternoon.

My first chance to catch some footy since returning from overseas a couple of days ago. Will be very interesting to see how we look in terms of personnel out on the park and what they show during the game.

Will also be interesting to see Fev in maroon and gold alongside Brown should they both play. A scary duo on paper, but I do have my doubts as to whether or not they'll function properly together. Not sure what I'll feel when (and if) I see Fev out there.

Should be a good day, hopefully we get a win, but having said that it's a meaningless game. Not worried about the result in the slightest, it's more about getting the game plan and structures right in time for the real stuff in a few weeks time.

Just for anyone who is thinking about catching the train on the Upfield line. Buses will be replacing Trains from Gowrie to Coburg

That's exactly it J.
It's all about getting our processes in order, and working out our structure and what is going to be the best mix of personal going forward.

And as such, Ratts and, by extension, the players, can't be judged too harshly no matter what the result. This is, after all, a dress rehearsal. Who knows, Ratts may even choose to hold his cards close to his chest and implement a structure that might be a back-up plan for us, so as to not give anything away for the real deal.

Let's hope the "back up" plan was used against Sydney
