Our first game is likely to have been July 2 1864 and it was against a Richmond side unrelated to the current Richmond side.

I'd probably rather we played Geelong or Melbourne in any special match, as the only older clubs than us. It's not all about those Johnny-come-lately's at Collingwood.

That's quite an effort considering they didn't have umpires then. The respective team captains would pay the free kicks.

I just brought one of the winter jackets with the CFC on the back and est. 1864 on the front... should have waited until the new jackets came out...


But it is starting into winter over here and it's raining and cold and that new jacket is going to be so awesome

And I asked my Chelsea supporting housemate when his club was formed... 1903 or something like that... bloody johnny come latelys over here... hardly any clubs over here in the UK are as old as Carlton

Apparently none of their soccer teams are as old. Notts County did play before us but did not officially form a team until 1867 or something, and they are supposedly the oldest club over there.
