Like when some people had a thing against me as mod, like the encouragement award, people left the board, publicly said so about me.

I'm not an angel. Nor as a mod. And when you're a mod, especially a new mod, you're always going to have people upset with the direction of things etc. Be they regulars or other mods who visit the board as posters. Everyone has an opinion and/or wants things run a certain way.

Everyone already knows my way/style. I don't have anything against the current mods or chism either. Keeping a sense of liberty and random controversy/tiffs is ok in my book. But at the same time also don't like seeing regulars leave. Tho I don't like the idea of people being in the ears of mods, or cliques forming either. Modding ain't easy that's for sure. I've left our current mods alone and it's theirs to run how they choose to.

Of course all this could be in vain because people could return and it was just like "hey I was just he'll busy with work and family!"

Years before the EA, we had a similar thing. Posting what Simpsons characters other posters would be. And years before that even, what type of keyboard warriors, or something. Very old threads. I thoroughly enjoyed them but there are always people who get rubbed the wrong way. Either spat in public or tell me off in PM and never return. Or just not return. Sometimes people have drunken rants seeking attention. Or even start a thread directly about themselves or against another poster, more attention wanted.

I love it all. Smart football talk done respectfully, as well as cbalanced out with crazy shit that happens. Life would be dull otherwise.

This is seriously one of the best boards on BF. Very welcoming to anybody not only new to the board but new to the game. The encouragement award thing I though was pretty funny and generally good natured.

If you want to see a shit BF board go look at to other big US sports one, basketball. Full of absolute bellends.

If this board was as strict as some of the others most of the people would be banned.

The line is 5.5 right now, I reckon that will go right up in the coming weeks.

I wasn’t nominated, but I didn’t want to post on the board, because one controversial opinion leads to half a dozen ****s calling you out for nothing other than a difference of opinion.
It was a waste of time, petty, and take the enjoyment out of conversation on the board.

The Chadwikos, the sms, the cruyffs of this world" it’s these petty people with personal issues who will ruin it by attacking other people personally.

I’m happy it got shutdown.

There are types of things like EA that are fun, but certain people can either take it too personally, too thin-skinned. But also people who it brings the worst out of them, encouraged to be more low-base than high-base. Appealing more to the lowest denominator inside all of us.

This is the tricky thin line between many things these days -- PC'ness. Need some freedom to breathe and be trash talking, have tiffs, melts, but also not go too far where something degenerates into just shit and slander and crap posting. Where EA is meant as a sideshow, fun, but the sideshow becomes almost the main focus of many people's posting and the board itself.

For the record, I'm happy there's no EA anymore. It was a good idea at first, but in the end detracted from the board. As DB put it -- it took the enjoyment/purpose out of posting on the board.
