Player Profile:

At just 22 James Jordon can call himself a premiership player after appearing in the 2021 Grand Final for Melbourne as the medical substitute, the same year he made his debut for the Dees. The midfielder was initially taken as pick 33 in the 2018 draft and joined the Sydney Swans on the opening day of the 2023 AFL Free Agency Period. He played just 18 games in 2023 with the hopes to improve and grow in the red and white.

James Jordn
Born: 20 December 2000
Draft: 2018
Recruited from: Oakleigh Chargers >> Melbourne

Jimmy to me, will be the real dream come true, fairytale ending if we do end up winning the flag this year.
Growing up a Swans fan, playing good footy but always on the peripheral at the Dees's, unused sub in the 21 Grannie, to now playing a key role for his beloved team. Can you imagine how he will be feeling if we actually do it.

"if"???

Jordon has been quite the recruit
Played every game this year
Clamped down some of the best, can go forward and kick a goal, Plays his role every week
Only 23, he could play another 150 games for us
I suspect many of us thought "this guy will be handy depth" but how good is it that he has turned out to be a best 22 lock. Has every skill as well.

Looking forward to seeing who he gives the treatment to on Saturday. If he and Rowy play their midfield roles well, then it will enable the big names to get the job done!

Has had a superb season for us - great first season. And so many years of good footy in front of him. He looks at home as a Swan - absolute bargain of a trade!

Poor bugger has dropped to page 5 on the Board, deserves a call out.

No fuss, but one of the very first names on the teamsheet.

Week in week out does his job and much more than just a tagger (mind he's good at that as well).
Just a snapshot from tonight;
2nd most contested possessions for us (=4th for both teams)
2nd most clearances for us (=4th for both teams)

Started on the wing, moved inside and then given the job on Day, which as usual he performed admirably.
Noticeable too the amount of space he created on the wing, but unfortunately not spotted or used anywhere enough.

Just a good honest, dependable, all-round player that people recognise but perhaps he still doesn't get the deserved accolades.

He's been good since he came...Question, given he's one of our genuine 2 way players why doesn't he play on the ball a bit more?
Given we're overstuffed with flankers to the point we're sticking them everywhere in roles they're less suited to....it seems strange the one flanker that does look like he has the capacity to do other things is just drifting around on the wing/HFF most the time (sometimes tagging but not always). He looks better suited to on-ball more than some of the other guys we put in there. I'd rather see him in there than Adams, McInenery etc.
