Shoulder. Having shoulder surgery.
There is an article in the Herald Sun today saying he has already had surgery. They could also be totally wrong of course.

Yep, had surgery

"He was training last week but re-injured the joint and went under the knife on Thursday."

Shoulder will be 8-12 weeks - I had him in my first Round team but that will need to be put back now. The good news is though if there is an issue there (as there was with Duck) its best to get it done early and get it right.

13 kegs and 3 cms though - makes him a legit kpd so best to take a longer term view wth him.

2 months? So I guess it wasn't a dislocation at least?
Was an AC joint last year....interesting if same shoulder/injury....my understanding is doctors prefer a conservative/non-surgery approach (in overhead/throwing athletes anyway and typically make full recovery.) Must have been a a lot of separation.

You would hope our fitness/physio team are professional enough to always have players coming back from shoulders/knees/elbows/ankles etc always strapped up at training

Strapping for shoulders most of the time is mental anyway.

When I dislocated my shoulder my physio told me a story about Jordan Roughead. Said it took him years to mentally recover from his dislocation and always needed strapping.

After surgery and successful rehab you return to the same probability of doing your shoulder as anyone else, all luck after that.

Not an uncommon occurrence. Post op players have very tight tendons etc which take time before full motion can return, making them vulnerable to snapping (which may or may not have occurred with Will). I fully ruptured a bicep tendon a week post a shoulder reco. A simple procedure to reattach it then the rehab started again. He’ll be fine post Xmas.

He did it on week 1 of preseason training.

He will likely be back in ball work by Australia Day.

Will play the preseason games.

Yeah be surprised if not.....AC's extremely painful, but generally heal up well...my young bloke did his around june with a 5mm displacement. No surgery, 3w immobilization, physio, range of motion exercises, weights, and wouldn't even know he injured it by september.

Jeepers. Imagine if he played U18s against kids this year with that frame. Would have absolutely bullied them.

Apparently a genuine ‘nice kid’ and a massive see-you-next-Tuesday once he crosses the line.

We’re not going to get pushed around for much longer.
