restructuring just pushed money to later years. You would do some of it.

Staley just looks like a prime contender to cut. 36years old and can cut him to save over $10M with the other $1m the dead money. that will just about double the cap room with letting one player go.
and let Sanders walk unless he wants to play for 7-8M rather than the $10 he can get elsewhere.

Everything you state is absolutely on the cards....cutting Staley would be super tough as the longest tenured 49er....I expect if wants to pla on it will be at a very team friendly deal.

McKinnon likely gets cut to make room and there are a few contracts that can be restructured...I read on another board which has a pretty good capologist poster....he did some what if scenarios and as ling as the fas in question dont get massive contract offers elsewhere they should be able to be resigned

Some early thoughts;

KC has got the receivers to make San Fran hurt. When you consider they've faced a one legged Thielen and Stephon Diggs then Davante Adams and <insert generic brand receiver> , this will be by far it's hardest challenge to do date. Hill, Watkins, Kelce and Hardman all have speed and can moved all over the LOS. Pass rush has to be on its A+ game.

Mahomes has the man power to exploit them opposite Sherman.

Lossen up your arm Jimmah. Will be needing you next week.

Weather permitting, I get the feeling this superbowl could end up in some ridiculous score like 48- 38...either/either.

Can't see it happening. Can see KC over committing to stopping the run and making Jimmah beat them. And he in turn having a big day, whether it can be big enough vs Mahomes is the question ..

Just going off PPG this year, the Chiefs are 2nd in the NFL, surprisingly tho, the Nines are 3rd.

Far more potent offense the Titans.

Jimmy is very good but I think most would agree you could slot any competent QB into the 49ers at the moment & they'd do better than ok. Mahomes on the other hand is simply on another level & makes shit happen when it really shouldn't.

Provided Reid calls a good game (& yes, some faith is required here), KC will win this.

Mahomes not doubt the superior QB, and Niners offense is far more balanced.

The three games I remember this year when Jimmy was called upon to do it all, two ended up wins, vs the Saints and Cards, the other ended up in a disaster vs the Seahawks when he was absolutely terrible.

He can sling it when asked, but he can also put in an absolute stinker, something Mahomes never does.

This is one of the best D-Lines ever, no other this year comes close to this one.

But how do the 9ers stop the Chiefs. you cant play man, If you do everyone is looking at the WRs and Mahomes can take off or thorw to Hill or someone who has outrun the coverage. and Zone will get picked apart. Mahomes is the best QB in the league
Teams had success playing more man against KC early in the season while Hill was suspended.

to stop the 9ers run game you dont need to load the box because the packers did that and did nothing with it. its all about angles because the 9ers are track guys getting angles on the edge.
You wont run the ball for enough scores to out score Mahomes

My early take on this is the 49ers will score points, they did after all score more points than the Chiefs in Championship round.

Chiefs X Factor worries me both Mahomes (you can play 9 perfect defensive snaps and he beats you on the 10Th for a TD) and even more so the Honey Badger. I can see him baiting Jimmy into one of his trademark WTF throws.

i just rewatched the AFC contest again and there is no way Mahomes scores that TD against the 49ers before the half and the big TD to Watkins was the result of Brock falling over. Titans looked like a team that had travelled a week too far and once you actually committed to tackle In the run defence which is built more on brute force than the shifts and scheme of the 49ers it was all over.
