I disagree with any notion that there was some massive lapse of judgment or huge weakness was responsible for the 49ers losing. Despite a period ascendancy, I didn't think the Chiefs played their best. But when it got down to "business time", they got down to business and proved their worth.

To nitpick at a particular player, play or tactic as a crucial dumbass weakness I think is BS.

As far as the Seahawks are concerned. I look at their defence first for ******* up that game. What's meant to be an all time great defence was playing soft and giving up a 10pt lead with the SB on the line, and giving up the lead with 2 minutes to go? They allowed the opportunity for something stupid to occur, and it did.

No question the play call was stupid. I'm not against a pass play at that moment, but something where a receiver is on his own or where Russell throws it away. But with the eb on the line, they run the same play that ****** the Cardinals at half time of their sb.

That was a very good argument. However, you're not allowed to have the last word. That's LAs.

For the record...I agree with a few points you made, but when a team wins or losses, and especially when a team makes a comeback win or chokes a lead....it wasn't just one thing, one player/person, on one team. It takes a collective effort from both the team making the comeback and the team choking. BUT...that must also include the coaches/play-callers. In football, there are few people more responsible and directly involved -- HC, play-caller, QB, and DC/play-caller. Eg, you blame the Seahawks losing that game vs Pats due to playing too soft....well whose fault is that!!! The DC/HC/Play-callers. If they're told to play a certain way, Cover 3, bend don't break, then that's what the players performed. The Niners vs the Chiefs ALSO made "scared" decisions on both O and D in that 4th Qtr. It wasn't all just Garoppolo's fault for that one missed Kittle pass or that overthrown Sanders pass. The game could have been put away if Shanahan did some things differently. Mahomes can make a comeback, but the other team allowed it to happen by not generating game-killing drives in the 4th on offense.

Anyway, that might also be a good argument, but I too am not allowed the last word.

The Seahawks D definitely played soft in sb49. But I don't agree that it automatically applies with the 9ers in this game.

They key moment (As NFL Flims has made a big deal of), was the "wasp" play after the review of the catch was overruled and the Chiefs were 3rd and 15, or whatever the **** it was.

At that moment, it got down to "business time" for the Chiefs, and shit like the wasp play starts coming into mind. The 49ers lost, but I don't think it's like recent sb losers (Particularly Falcons, Panthers and Seahawks) where fans lament one thing or another and lost one they should've won.

I respect your analysis and opinion, and you're such a gentleman when arguing (extra points).
I agree 49ers loss wasn't a capitulation like the Falcons.
And it wasn't too similar to the Seahawks loss where it really did come down to one play when all was said and done (the 1st&G)...tho there were factors all game that contributed to the Seahawks loss.
But my main point is that it's not all JG's fault, nor all Chiefs, KS had a part in it---which some people are denying he has...that's my bugbear.
I cite those previous examples just to illustrate that PC erred. SMcV erred. BB got praise, etc...because coaches DO contribute to the results.

Garoppolo checked to a new play on the 2nd and 5. Shanahan may have called a run we don't know. But there was still a wide open Kittle 5 yds over the middle and Jones just made a championship play

At the end of the day people will always want to point the finger rather than just giving credit where it is due to Jones

I wish more people would see it like this. The Chiefs best players just made better plays than the 49ers in the final quarter simple as that.

On any other day the result could just have easily be reversed.

It was made easier for KC though because SF weren't coached to their strengths/opposition weakness

Wow, sir....amazing...

Just got around to watching this finally . Quality video idea even if there is a hell of a lot of assuming, was enjoyable.

Two things no matter how many times I see them from that game;

1) am in awe of that catch by Julio, just incredible

2) laugh my arse off at Freeman "blocking" Hightower on that Matt Ryan fumble.

Funny thing being I was also got on the Falcons preseason that year to the Superbowl at 25-1. Not as sexy as the 65-1 with the Niners this year but a decent price all the same. I was "Kyle'd" twice, the difference being this year I was smart enough to lay off on the Chiefs. (A Niners win was still a better result for me though 😥)

Took me a few days to get over the Falcons loss from a betting standpoint when 28-3 up. Felt like I'd been robbed. When I finally did God I laughed. Felt great after all the shit Falcons fans had given the Panthers for losing SB 50.
