Tentatively optimistic.

I think he could be a great get but I wouldnt expect it immediately.

Logjam at ruck/fwd now. 2 of them just re-signed.

I feel like you've robbed us a bit here but you definitely owe us one so I can't be too upset.

Ladhams is a natural footballer. He's clever, has good skills and moves well for his size, and he's good in traffic. He has a lot of scope to develop and I'd prefer that we'd kept him.

His question mark is basically that he hasn't shown definitively that he'll develop into a #1 ruck, and for a big guy he plays like a small guy. His marking is poor for his size and leading patterns and ability to work with other forwards needs work.

That said, he's 23, a baby for a ruckman, and he's got plenty of time to develop both, and even with those relative weaknesses he's been best 22 for most of the last 2 seasons for us.

23-year-old ruck that has been in the best 22 of the team that finished 1st and 2nd the last two seasons. He's already a good player, and hopefully Dean Cox can turn him into one of the best rucks in the comp.

You've bent us over and done us good on that trade. You've got a massive, massive bargain.

Ladhams does stuff at ground level that puts him amongst the absolute elite as a ruck. Hence why he has the ability to play forward in the modern game.

His ruckwork has improved, but like any young ruck he still needs to get stronger and gather more experience rucking at AFL level.

His overhead marking is his biggest weakness. When he first came to the club he couldn't mark anything, literally nothing. He has certainly improved and now clunks them from time to time, but still double grabs A LOT. If he can develop that part of his game and gather more confidence then he will become a star.

Honestly you've scored a great pick up here, his trajectory has continually been upward and he will be a quality ruck for you. And for a 3rd rounder it's an epic steal. I'm devastated we've lost him, pairing with our future #1 Hayes was seen as his destiny, and many of us truly thought we'd have an absolute elite future ruck set-up the likes we haven't seen since Lade and Brogan, or Primus and Lade, but ah well it wasn't to be.

I've just got hopes that pick 12 is some sort of superstar and 16 is a spud. Lol

Takes Reid’s forward/ruck role. McDonald can still play alongside him and Buddy.

McLean more a traditional KPF so playing a different role.

Makes it harder for Amartey to cement his spot but competition for spots and depth isn’t a bad thing at all.

As I posted in the last 24 hours I would like the Swans to experiment with Amartey as a key backman pre season.
