one thing you noticed at the ground that you don't pick up on TV, is that he runs to the right spots at the right times.

promising

Yeah, I've noticed that he has top level awareness, both offensively and defensively.

Hopefully the coaches realise the sort of player he is. He's not always going to have games like that, playing (effectively) the small forward role means he's going to have quiet games here and there. Hopefully they recognise that and don't drop him on a knee jerk which we've done with young players before.

Best mates with Joey..

What's the go there? Joey burnt him on his first snap at goal when Edwards was pretty well alone at the top of the square.

Then from the seven goals they kicked between the two of them they ran up to each other and celebrated like it was a final. Was sensational to see.

With time in the seniors can he be our Michael Walters?

By asking that I am not saying a dulled down version, but can he legitimately be a Walters equivalent?

Probably doesn't have enough shit tattoos tbh

On a serious note, I can't see why not. Doesn't appear to lack anything that Walters has... has great goal sense, inventive, athletic.

Poor vision combined with the fact JD had the confidence to kick it from there.

I do remember Adelaide fans being quite filthy when they didn't get Edwards. It was between us two, Adelaide didn't want to take Aylett, which swung in our favour.

Loved his game last week, much better effort than the Hawthorn match. Amongst a number of positives two things stood out to me, his positioning and defensive pressure. If he can do that most weeks then he will form a very dangerous partnership with Joe and cements his claim on a permanent place in our forward line.

Have no issue with our tall forward taking the responsibility to have a crack.

This kid is ******* talented.

Indeed he is, and he adds some x-factor which our side is sorely lacking. He needs prolonged exposure to AFL footy so we can see if his game against St Kilda or Melbourne are closer to his norm, and whether he can bridge the gap between his best and worst.

I enjoyed his defensive work last week. Hope this continueS.
I agree - was much better than his terrible efforts against Hawthorn. I suspect if he keeps his defensive output up he will continue to get games regardless of his offensive output. If his defensive game drops away then he may come under pressure.
