Looks like this bloke.

Great today. His defensive efforts were much better too.
He looked so natural when he was going for the goal from 50, you just knew it was going to go thru.
I'd be stumped if he was dropped to the VFL again this year.
Like the commentators said, we must persist with a player like this. He might have a quiet patch here and there but it's better for him in the long run

He will wreak havoc when we have good forward structure because he can take the massive grab, kick the extraordinary goal (not that the goals today were extraordinary), set up a teammate from any angle in any play and pretty much has every play in the non-conventional forward playbook covered.

There will be games, like his one against Hawthorn, when his impersonation of a headless chook gives the chook a bad name but it's just something that we have to put up with until we get the structure right.

I was as pleased that he really hit the man and the ball hard on a few occasions as I was with his mark and goals.

See after the goal, sitting on the bench gets handed the phone.... Camera up to the box, think I read hirds lips say, " see mate" with a smile.. that's what you can do...

I got a sick feeling in the gut. I bet Hird was telling him he should have centered the ball. And to pull his head in about the celebration.

He doesn't like players playing with natural ability and instinct.

What ?

Why would Edwards centre the ball if you are nearly straight in front of goal.

Have been critical of his defensive side and if he will make it but he must be played for the rest of the year unless his form is horrible.
Has improved in a lot of his weak areas and although he has a bit to go with defensive actions he looks very good in parts.

I love that time when he got the ball and his opponent was right in front of him and it was so obvious that he wanted to side step him. His opponent was too scared to approach because of the risk so when Edwards saw that he just took the extra time and delivered right to Daniher who unfortunately messed up that marking contest. The difference of having someone with real agility and pace up forward.

Obviously the goal on the run was awesome too.
