Fascinating.

My grandmother and her husband were members of the Communist party in Sydney in the 40s right up to the time they moved to Broken Hill to get work. I'll always have a soft spot for die hard left wingers.

Yes, it's been floating around for a few weeks now.

I hope it's better than the stuff on 4:13 Dream which was quite a disappointment.
Such a long time to not release new material.

Dec 1979 I had the shortest hair ever, all the better when on the back of a Kawasaki 900. I had one of those asymetrical radical hair cuts, a floppy bob on one side and shorn up the other side.
Living off Chappel street in Prahran, in one of those blonde brick 60's blocks, ground floor, wooden floors, venetian blinds. I'd just finished Foundation Year Art & Design at the Prahran College of Advanced Education and I was living with my boyfriend for the first time.
No licence yet so it was bike mode. I do remember getting around in black faux leather jeans that I'd bought at Stiletto in Chappel St one of the first proto punk boutiques in Chappel St, a one off buy and easier wearing than the real thing.

Mars leather in Elizabeth St city was where you got the real thing. Elizabeth St on a Saturday morning was crazy bike mania, like a street party for the bike mad, the cafe racers, bikies, desperados, wannabe bickies, classic bike freaks.
Stretching between little Collins all the way up the West side to Lonsdale St were bike shops and businesses, Peter Stevens being the main draw. Mad Max was the film du jour released in April a subset lifestyle choice combining with punk leanings.

Max Rotanski was dressed by Aphrodite Kondos, the leathers made by Mars Leathers Melbourne and adapted with sports store kit spray painted black. Aphi told me that story in her workroom, 8 years later as she breifed me on the illustrations she wanted done for a Sci-Fi film she and partner John Dowding were pitching for in the USA.

2024 Grand Final Form Guide

1. 1s111 Brisbane Lions C.Fagan (Gabba) Fitzroy-Brisbane Bears
MAROON,BLUE,YELLOW (J.Brown)
Won three straight after being freshened up. Finished strongly two starts back over shorter distance. Sustained long run before kicking on the line when challenged last start. Stepping up in class and distance, but looking for extra ground and finished second, beaten by a short half head, in this race last year. Top chance.

2. 1s1s1 Sydney Swans J.Longmire (SCG) South Melbourne-AFL
RED,WHITE (D.King)
Second up from a spell is a concern and failed badly when tried at this track and distance in 2022. Been winning comfortably against weaker company. This is a bigger challenge than their last start win against Port Adelaide. Wearing blinkers and pacifiers for the first time. A query at this distance.
