Of course they are going to play him at CHF, Bradshaw will play at FF with Brown at CHF. This gives Brisbane a much better forward structure and makes them much more potent. There will be times where he plays from the square but he will predominately be played at CHF. I would think that Matthews would be looking at a return of 50 odd goals from Bradshaw at FF and if he can get 50 from Brown at CHF they will make a feared combo.

To answer you're question i am not sure how many goals Buddy kicked from CHF but it would have been very few. :thumbsu:
I've heard Bradshaw may play defence this year.

Between the games best Brown and Pav same as last year. Fev will come close & Lloyd is over the hill.

If Brown plays the full 22 he is a lock on consecutive colemans and a big chance at the brownlow.

Fully switched on and mentally focused, no one could beat Fev IMHO.
But it's between him, J Brown and Buddy Franklin.

I actually have a gut feeling though that 'Buddy' is going to have an dead set standout season though, and perhaps win his first Coleman (frankly I'm more worried about Carlton's improvement up the ladder then individual awards)

BTW With Mattina Lloyd, remember he is one more hamstring injury away from retirement.

I'd get on Jono Brown, especially because I believe the Lions will do well this year. But Bradshaw may steal some goals off him.

FWIW Thompson is going at $61 down at TAB. He was in the running for the Coleman in 2006, and that's when we were bottom 3. If he weren't coming off a new reco, he'd be worth a couple of bucks at those odds.

Its going to be between Fevola and Brown. With Judd & Stevens drilling it to Fev, he could kick quite a few goals this year. But Brisbane now with Johnstone added to their classy midfield Brown will be in for a big year if he can play all 22 games.

I will say that Brown will win it, mainly because Brisbane has a few more quality midfielders in their team who will drill it out to him.

What are Brown's odds?

Lloyd - 115
Fevola - 109
Brown - 97
Franklin - 85
Lucas - 70
Mooney - 67

And so on...

im feeling very optimistic for lloyd, but i dont think anybody will kick 100 goals this season.
and especially if lloyd performs as well as most of us essendon supporters think he will, then lucas probably wont be kicking more than 50. Not trying to diminish lucas' skill or presence in our side but i dont think we have enough room for that many goals between two blokes.
I dont think we're going to be in for an enormous year (i really hope im proven wrong), so IMO were probably not going to have one 100+ goalkicker in lloyd AND another 65+ goalkicker in lucas. BUT hey who knows :D

The highlighted part is why Fev won't win. As if he'd be able to stay mentally focused for 22 weeks. The guy struggles to do it for 4 quarters. Is Judd going to get inside his head and sort everything out in between fixing the midfield and defence as well? :p

Hawkins for the Coleman is a real smoky. The bloke looks a lot fitter than he was this time last year, and with the likes of Ablett, Corey, Bartel and Selwood hitting him on the chest all season, a huge year isn't out of the question for the Tomahawk. He reportedly outbodied Scarlett several times in one-on-one drills at training a few weeks back, which is something the likes of Rocca, Gehrig, Neitz, Lynch and Lloyd rarely do.

if i had to pick 1 player to win it i'd say fev but looking it an from an unbiased view i think it's more likely someone else will win it, just that fev is more likely than any of those players indivually if that makes any sense:confused:

Can you please explain why this is ? ;)

I'll try. Because his ability to out-muscle and out-mark opposing full-backs is far greater than any of the opponents that he will come up against all year. Secondly, because he is the most accurate kick of the football the game has ever seen, with the exception of Scott Lucas from outside 50.

NO. a more accurate answer to that question would be that he has an unmatched ability to thrust his body forward in every single marking contest in search of a free kick even if there was no contact made to him. thus, the maggots who know nothing about football think hey he just fell over i'll give him a free kick. at which point matty lloyd goes back and if he's within about 30 metres and in between the line of the two point posts goes back and slots the goal.

his ability to out-muscle and out-mark opposing full backs is no where near as good as cameron mooney, jonathon brown, nick riewoldt, brendan fevola and a whole host of other true forwards. his accuracy at goal is inferior to that of mark williams, brendan fevola, matthew pavlich, nick davis etc.

ok so can you please explain to me why lloyd kicks 115 goals this year ?

3 key factors:

1. Fitness. A fully fit Lloyd is a matchwinner. He hasn't had that level of fitness in the last couple of years.

2. Better quality ball disposal. Contrary to the thoughts of the clueless on here, Essendon's midfield is as good as any in the competition on their day. Lloyd will benefit form the likes on Winderlich, Lovett, Davey and McVeigh delivering the ball to him on a consistent basis.

3. Knights' game plan. Based on what I saw of Bendigo under Knights, the game plan in use is a direct style of footy. Forwards thrive on that sort of play.
