Personally, I think there is too much white.

Id prefer something more like:

I like that.

Nope, the traditional brown and gold stripes forever. I don't mind the club playing around for merchandise sales, it makes a lot of money. But when it comes to home and away, the old stripes makes my blood tingle. So much tradition is attached to it.

I know where Eddie the blacksmith at Pieland is coming from on this issue.

I agree entirely I do not think hawthorn would change their gurnseys for home and away. This will be for nab cup as we do not clash with anyone, but we may see them wear these gurnseys once or twice during the regular season to bump up some sales.

PIN-UP boy Buddy Franklin showed off Hawthorn’s new clash guernsey during the club’s AFL Telstra Community Camp in Hobart, Tasmania on Tuesday.

The design, by apparel sponsor Puma incorporates the bold new Hawks logo and will be worn in selected games of the NAB Cup and against West Coast in round 21 of the home-and-away season.
The new look - with its ‘swoop’ back – is more body-hugging and reportedly more comfortable to wear than the traditional-fit jumper.

Hawthorn players have worn alternate jumpers during previous pre-season competition campaigns and for AFL heritage rounds, however, it is the first time the club has an official clash jumper.

One game of the home and away season. I thought they would wear it 2 or 3 times.

I like the brown with the white but the gold on the sides of the jumpers don't look particuarly flash.

I don't think 3 colours should be used in equal proportions. Although there is more white and brown, I still think there's too much gold.. if anyone understands what I'm saying..

It's a nice jumper but I don't think it is suitable for Hawthorn because

1. Jumpers are supposed to distinguish teams. A dark shade on the back and a majority light shade on the front is a poor design.

2. It doesn't represent our two colours very well.

3. I wouldn't want to see it with white shorts.

From a Graphic Designers point of view I LOVE IT!! I think the white works really well! My only concerns are the white numbers and the way the Hawk seems to have a much longer neck than in the logo. Otherwise GREAT Job! I'll be buying one!!

What colour shorts do you guys think we will wear with the jumper? will look great with the brown and gold hooped socks!

How about this without the big hawk (why do all modern jumpers require big logos plastered on the front?). Add a brown stripe down the front and a gold stripe down the back and it could be a contemporary redesign of the home strip. I might attempt a photoshop on the weekend

The 'white' design is a bit like a training jumper. Just like all those other clubs who did white jumpers with a club logo at the front. Its been overdone.

The big logo is more of a modern design, its something new, I personally dont want to see our clash being just a boring adaption of our current gurnsey. I want something new, unique, slick, and modern looking so when it is worn on the rare occasion its a real change of pace. I can guarantee this jersey will have more kids wanting to buy it then anyother gurnsey in the AFL because it is a very nice design.

Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.

I personally like the jumper.

I am surprised however that its just being worn the once in the regular season though - on a dark, wet day I find that our 'clash' with Richmond can get a bit annoying. I'm all for a bit of white to break it up a bit.

Welcome to the forum mate! Good post
