Of course I can complain. To be honest, I can't remember a check from Franzen all night that was as bad or worse than Murray's.
It was a few minutes after the original hit, he blindsided Murray and got him flush in the jaw. It wasn't as heavy as Murray's, but it was still a blindside hit to the head.

This business about blindside head hits is a new hysteria, stemming from Savard's injury. Murray making that hit is nothing like Franzen crosschecking Nichol's face. That's always been against the rules, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, the hit was not to the head. Look at Franzen's arm spring up after the hit compared to Savard's head whipping to the side. Totally different.

I wonder if any betting firms have opened a book on next season's Calder Trophy...

Last night PK Subban led all skaters with 29 minutes of ice time and was a +2. It was his 10th NHL game (8 playoff games).
Well, he was beaten to the AHL rookie of the year by Couture... so Couture wins? ;) 36 games played now (11 Playoff)

Tyler Ennis won it.

The American Hockey League announced today that forward Tyler Ennis of the Portland Pirates has been named the winner of the Dudley (Red) Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL’s outstanding rookie for the 2009-10 season, as voted by AHL coaches, players and media in each of the league’s 29 member cities.

Subban and Couture were both named in the AHL rookie team of the year.

Goaltender: Alex Stalock, Worcester Sharks (56gp, 37-16-2, 2.63gaa, .908sv%, 3so)
Defenseman:
John Carlson, Hershey Bears (48gp, 4+35=39pts., +37)
Defenseman:
P.K. Subban, Hamilton Bulldogs (71gp, 18+34=52pts., +43)
Forward:
Logan Couture, Worcester Sharks (42gp, 20+33=53pts.)
Forward:
Lars Eller, Peoria Rivermen (66gp, 16+37=53pts.)
Forward:
Tyler Ennis
, Portland Pirates (69gp, 23+42=65pts.)

Couture looks like a clever player, I liked his goal in Game 3 when he saw Howard cheating across his crease and he fired the puck at Howard banking it off his pads.

Depending on off season movements I'm not sure if he will get much action higher than the 3rd line next season though.

Canucks have their backs to the wall, are down 3-1 and down two defencemen and are pushing back at Chicago. Would like to see this series go a bit longer.

Would love to force a game 7. Canucks have been their own worst enemies in the first two rounds, giving up 5 minors per game and matching that with a 67% PK. Just awful!

Go nucks go!

Wish they'd confirm the start time for the Sharks v Hawks games, but they won't until after all series are finished. So I'm hoping that Philly v Boston finishes tomorrow, that way we can start on the Friday (US Time) so we aren't completely rusty and I'd get to watch it for once.
