It was Brian Elliott's first playoff game.

MA Fleury - 1st pick in 2003 draft
B Elliott - 2nd last pick in 2003 draft
I knew it was Elliott's first playoff game, but didn't know that about when they were picked. I guess it just goes to show that you can draft whoever you want, but the most important thing in sport is coaching. Same goes for footy.

Halak keeps Montreal in it in the 1st period of game 1 stopping 19 of 20 shots..

he may see 50 shots each game in this series whihc spells dom for Montreal...sooner or later the floodgates will open

Maybe not...

Halak is 9W – 1L when facing more than 35 shots this season. He likes lots of shots and seems to fall asleep when facing less than 30 shots a game.

Up to 39 shots with five minutes to go now. :thumbsu:

Halak is 7-0-0 when facing more than 40 shots.

Caps shot count is up to 41. Into overtime now and Montreal on the power play. :thumbsu:

thats an interesting stat. they might pinch this in OT

Which D pair is on Ovechkin? i noticed he had 0 shots through regulation..

Finally the Hawks play today.

It's all on Niemi. If he produces what he has in the regular season, we can definitely make it out of the West.

And he's gotten into a good groove over the past 15 games or so, as Huet is completely out of the picture now.

First big crack in Boucher's "wall", letting in a stinker from a Colin White wrist shot from the blue line.

and how can you tell Colin White hasn't scored a playoff goal in over 100 games? His last playoff goal was against the Leafs (nine years ago).

Bah, off from work today so I could watch the Sharks game.. but I got invited to the Crows game with a free ticket, so I'm going to that instead. Oh well, Sharks will probably fail me like usual.
Wise decision mate. ;)

I'll be at the game today, keeping a regular eye on the scores with the iPhone. We better win, Crows and Detroit that is. :p

wow... Colorado were great, never say die, and so much energy, same as game 1, just absolute pressure, and Anderson was awesome, solid, not spectacular.

How was Doug Wilsons reaction on the tying goal, and the crows reaction on the GWG? Amazing.

Gotta give some love to the Pens/Sens game(other other game I was watchin), and Sid... special. How was his stickwork against Spezza on the game winner?

Only thing I didn't like was his reaction to a high stick, went down like an Italian soccer player, only problem was it came from Guerin....

And the refs let plenty go in this game from what I saw.

I wonder if Mike Green is watching Drew Doughty tonight.

The difference in actually knowing what to do as a defenceman is amazing.

Green clueless, Doughty has everything under control. That's why Green watched the Olympics from the comfort of his couch. If Green even gets nominated for the Norris there should be a Royal Commission. Nothing more than a winger who lines up on the blueline.

Blackdiamond, enjoy your game!

The Wings game was a bit disappointing, always trying to do too much too late.

Phoenix getting a goal in the first thirty second and then and the last 30 second of the second period really hurt.

It was a good day though, our first game and we had our almost 8 month old son with us - would've been the youngest fan in attendance. He was good all day, didn't complain once.

It was bloody loud as well, had to cover his ears - I have never experienced anything that loud before.

Here is hoping for the right result on Tuesday, go Wings! :thumbsu:
