Concur.

I think Clark will overtake McIntosh by years end though.

Going up against Wood and Leigh Brown this weekend won't do his AA chances a lot of harm I wouldn't think.

I'm not so sure. I actually think H-Mac will over-take Jolly be seasons end.

Both should win their ruck contests this weekend, H-Mac against Kreuzer and Hampson and Clark up against Wood and Brown.

Clark should go close to being BOG if Brisbane are to get up, his influence in the ruck as well as around the ground and going forward could hurt Collingwood.

H-Mac also gets around the ground well, but so do Kreuzer and Hampson, so it'll be really interesting to see how H-Mac goes against them.

What are peoples' thoughts on this years AA Backline? When I was doing my team, the backline is the area which I gave the most thought to.

I had 9 players to choose from when I did my backline

Sam Gilbert - Matthew Scarlatt - Simon Prestigiacomo (or Brian Lake)
Corey Enright (or Josh Drummond) - Nathan Bock (or Sam Fisher) - Brendon Goddard.

Gilbert, Scarlett and Goddard are givens in my opinion, the others could go either way.

Enright ahead of Drummond because he's missed a couple of games but those three in brackets could easily be in by the end of the season.

Heath Shaw has to come into calculations now that he has cleared his head and is playing AMAZING football.

What a great thing it would be for the AA panel to make both Heater and Dids both All Australian after all the trouble that was forced on them last year.

There is nothing like a redeemed hero.

Are you on a mission this week, to pump up Collingwood in every thread possible. Heath Shaw has NO chance of AA this year. You should be happy with Presti and O'Brien as a chance. Maxwell an outside chance.
Didak shouldn't be near the AA team at this stage. One of the last picked for the squad.r

hope you are having a good day Aussie Gun. Be happy.

When do they come up with this 40 man squad? Do they make it public immediately?

I seem to recall them doing it midyear a few years ago.

I'm still amazed (and amused) that Hille didn't make the squad.

I'm not. AA selectors hate Essendon. One player on the bench in the last five years. Even in 00 we only had four compared to how many Geelong have had over the last couple of years and St.Kilda will likely have this year.

Why? The draw isn't fair, so you can't base selection on who the player performs against.

Everybody plays everybody at least once. It's not that hard to do. I just cant see how Fev could get selection considering well over half his goals have been scored against very poor opposition, and he has been very very poor against the good sides in the comp. His attitude stinks and he shouldn't be rewarded with AA.

So you think 7 games should just be written off after everyone has played each other once?

Do you want Fraser in the AA team?

No, why would i think he deserves it, clearly 6-7 guys well out in front of him.

I dont say ignore the extra 7 games, but credit must be given to games against better opposition. The AA side should be for consistant big game players, and not a team of flat track bullies.

Just my opinion, and obviously you think differently and thats okay. :thumbsu:

If Fev wins the Coleman he should be selected and than Saint Nick will be the CHF and Brown will be the third tall or starting on the bench.

At this stage Fev has to win the Coleman by 20+ goals to kick Brown and Riewoldt out of the key positions. Brown and Riewoldt are top 10 players this year. Fev is still too inconsistent. Two weeks ago Fev was all the buzz but after the Collingwood game I haven't heard his name mentioned at all.

If Buddy were to win the coleman He'd be selected, Yet I see what your saying Fev/Buddy(if they win coleman) bench Brown FF Nick CHF?
