FWIW, Anthony is a mature-aged recruit. He turns 22 in August.

Similar recruit to Ballantyne at Freo.

Yeah, I think that what Ziebell and Anthony have in their favour is that compared to other rookies they are fairly big-bodied and look ready, willing and able to withstand the rigors of AFL football. Not to mention that, as you pointed out, Anthony is a 21yr old mature-aged recruit

I have a question. I'm working on the Backline and I notice a lot of people put Goddard in their teams and I was curious to why. I have Sam Fisher in my team now but I'm not sure who I should choose out of the 2 players... and then there's Jason Gram, what about him?

*Cough*

cheers mate how about after round 3? would they be alot larger loses then gradually get less till he gets to about a correct average?

Not sure why youd want round 3 estimations? Too early to trade. But anyway:

Average, Estimated Price Change

105, -15k
110, -10k
115, -5k
120, About Even

These are very rough, and not best at these things remember.

Also - i must mention again, i see the MN playing out differently this year due to higher priced rookies.

Yeh, well, i had to pull something out to stop people realising im stupid.

No but really, has that ever happened recently? Based on PS, and my basic understanding of the players, id say ziebell would be dropped before anthony.

The last three years

2008:

- MacKay and Tippett played the first 12 matches
- Rioli and Stokes played the first 4 matches
- Weetra and Morton played the first 2 matches

2007

- Davey and Jetta played the first 4 macthes before Jettas got injured, Davey played the next 8.
- Thomas and Campbell played the first 3 of 4 matches
- Krakouer and Cockshell played the first 2 matches

2006

- Harding and Mitch Clark played the 3 matches

Hmm, Mackay and tippet are the ones.

Spose if they play 6 or 8 of first 10 thats fine, but thatd be harder to figure out. Im just a little worried ziebell will only play first 3-4.

k.simpson vs d.kerr
simpson has shown he can score in the 100s he has done it in round 1 and round 2 and didnt play in round 3 and what i was reading he had a good game against freo
so what do you guys think simpson or kerr

cheers:thumbsu:

yes brad sewell can become a keeper... but there are better options around his price.

what do tigers supporters think of Daniel Jackson? Last few games of 2008 he really finished off well, and is priced at about 320,000.

can he take the next step up?

jacko should really start to become a peremanent fixture in our midfield this season after a strong showing last season and a really good nab cup series. got 30 odd touches in both of games and can really find the footy. averaged 70 last year and i think he can push that above 80 this year. imo his spot in the 22 should be secure for the season so at his best could get up to 400k and be a straight trade to a falling premium or maybe be a handy 6th mid for a while.

thoughts on barry hall and nathan krakouer? both had great pre seasons is krakouer definetly in ports best 22? i doubt anyone will agree here but i think hall can be a good pick up at 350k. looked good in all the swans pre season games and i think he can get back to his best and average 90+ , looked really good before suspension last year. anyone considering hall?

Grigg and Suban were both injured in the Carlton vs Freo match, does anyone have any more info on this?

They were both in my team so it is not good :p

Absolutely agree with you about Jackson, perfect sumation. Hall on the other hand will give us another brain fade at some point and smack someone. He boned so many DT'ers last year and he's no spring chicken. Avoid.

yea well it was out of hall and stokes for the position i rekan il go with stokes though. he did have a quite game the other night though but has had a great nab cup and im still of the opinion he will average 95 this season.

Grigg, hamstring. Apparently strain not tear.

Suban, shoulder. Not sure how serious.

well suban returned to play in the 4th quarter so i presume it's not too serious.
What's everyone's thoughts on hentchell, I don't know much about him other than he's had quite a good preseason. Is he in adelaide's best 22?

adelaide obviosuly rate him if they have kept him on the list for the past 2 and a half years.

i think if fit he will play. unless he gets dropped from poor form throughout the first 4-5 rounds.

atm ive got him on the bench.

Won't rack up big scores. Handy EMG, but is he to exp for emergency and not good enough for 22. Tough q.

Luke Hodge

Any reason for the lack of love?

I know he's been a bit under-done in the pre-season, but come on... it's Hodgey!!! Missed 5 games last year, but had only missed one in the three years before that.

Originally I was alongside most people expecting to bring him in mid-season hoping he'd have a slow start during which I could pick him up. But after a great game on the weekend and still another couple of weeks before the season starts, I fear there may not be as good an opportunity as people expect.

He's usually very consistent too, and I know many people are wanting their premiums as either captain options or improvers, but I would go so far as to suggest hodge could be both.

The rolling zone will only help his scores you would think, although he may be heavily tagged. And that may be the only reason I don't buy him.

I would have Goddard, Fisher or Cornes first, but P. Burgoyne, McMahon, Lockyer, Newman, Symes, Mackie, Enright, Bock, McPhee etc all have more question marks over them IMHO.

Right... and then when you read on I said that he played really well on the weekend and has still got a couple of weeks to get totally ready, and that the fact he hasn't had a huge pre-season shouldn't have that significant an effect on him because he's been in the system so long.

The whole point of the post was to suggest that he may not drop as many anticipate he will, because IMO being under-done won't affect him that much. Also his consistency doesn't help the hope that he'll drop.

I think he only had 19 touches so unless they were all kicks from marks i think that is below his average output especially at his current price. Not that i know anything about the game on the weekend, he doesn't need many touches for reviewers to rave on about his game since he's a gun.

Well, he only averaged 23 disposals last year, so 19 is pretty good for a first game back. And on top of that he's still got two weeks!
