Yeh
The doggies have alot of these forwards who creep up the ground (gia, aker, bob murphy, BJ)
Although they all seemed to be able to score well on the same ocasion, so they can work well and score well when playing together

Will Akers, BJ's or Murphys role change

Aker - unsure. Might be given a couple of tagging jobs but I'd stay away. I think we might manage him so his best footy comes at the end of the season.

Johnson - will spend more time in the forward fifty, but I doubt that'll harm his scoring. Always finds a way to score well.

Murphy - will play the same roaming CHF role this year, although he hasn't had much of a pre-season and is in doubt for round one. Could be a good mid-year upgrade target.

Boomtown has posted the second part of its Football Manager 2009 player guide. From the article: "The key areas to scout are Western Europe, Mediterranean Region and South America. You can save money by having an assistant manager with tactical knowledge 18+ because he can be used to train players as he will be a seven star tactical coach. Changing your back room staff can cost upwards of 5 million pounds so you need to have this in mind when planning your budget. That cost comes from paying compensation to outgoing staff and paying compensation to clubs for taking theirs."

can someone plz convince me that adcock will improve this year....im not sold yet but having him in my team will solve a lot of problems

Yeh same here! I have him in my team atm purely for convenience reasons but I don't really think he's capable of an avg more than 80, and it could potentially be a lot lower than that... eg- 60.

Its very unclear what exactly his role is yet, and I still don't know how talented he is. Im hoping he will go up about 50-60k and I'll sell at some point during the year.

What do people think about Hale?

Were his last few games of 2008 a sign of things to come, or did they just infate his price for 2009?

Is he likely to average over 70 points a game?
Personally I wouldn't touch him.

Thoughts on Jordan Lewis? Underpriced, potential to be elite scorer, but could be a somewhat late starter and struggle early? Help!

how much can you see Knights improving DT wise? more than joel selwood?

from what ive loooked at, injury affected games brought down his averages quite substantially, can anyone recall what sort of injuries did he suffer last year and do you reckon they could still be problematic this year?

IIRC it was a quad that kept him out at the start of the year and a hamstring near the end of the year.

Presents a bit of risk, but he did play 22 out of 23 games in 2007.

Is everyone sold on Raines? Hes in 99.5% of teams pretty much. Im not so sure for a few reasons.

  • His game doesnt suit Dream Team to a tee. ie 25 touches = 70 points
  • How many running half backs can Richmond have? Raines, Newman, Mcmahon, perhaps Bowden? Will this increase or decrease scoring potential?
  • I can't see him averaging over 60-65.
Do most people only have him in their side for cash saving/money making purposes?

hes great value for money and yes i think most people will be looking to upgrade him

for me its out of him and geary
geary will score better but im not sold on his job security

"Thompson also earmarked Kane Tenace as the man to fill the vacant spot in Geelong's defence caused by the season-ending knee injury to Josh Hunt in the NAB Cup Grand Final."

represents pretty good value at 180k in the mids. could be a unique pick opposed to a higgins or a kraouker or a skipworth.

not sure how many touches he will get in the geelong backs but would definelty rise in value.

depends where mcphee will be playin, he can have some shocker games, and sometimes gets alot of possys but doesnt score huge

ok got a couple questions here guys

i got leon davis as my 4th strong FWD and im now thinkn should i downgrade him to either - Henschel or Krakouer to gain money ?

then i can upgrade either Tuck or Haselby

if u already have skippy and higgins then this would probably be a risky move. id suggest only having 2 out of the four. three if you play hentschel on the bench.

but dont take my word on it, go with your gut.
