Kovalchuk and Mike Green squared off ... no doubt it will be in video format soon.

After that there were two other fights on seperate faceoffs after each other. Then somehow WSH ended up with a 7 min PP to end the game.

Fantastic, great to have hockey back!

Green wanted to borrow some money and Kovy said he didn't have any.....and then it was on.

From his wiki..

Stepan scored a hat-trick in his first NHL game on October 9th, 2010 against the Buffalo Sabres, the first rookie in Rangers history to do so, en route to a 6-3 victory.[5] He is currently on pace to score 246 goals in his rookie season

:D

Lol, shittest fight ever between Kovy and Green. Liked how the caller was basically 'yeah these guys haven't done this since juniors and it shows'.

Bit devo tho, I had to go to work midway through the 2nd...so I missed the Caps goal rush (saw Flash's equaliser) and at least three fights - plus the oh-so-tough Leblond going after the 19-yr-old Johansson in his second game. That's just soft.

only two games gone, but honestly did anyone think that the oilers and leafs would both be top of their respective conferences at any time this season??

I think the Leafs were top at the start of last season too.
Pretty sure the Leafs started dreadfully last year. Something like one point in their first 10 games. I remember someone on here joke that hopefully they'll go 0-81-1.

A bit of a dream draw for the Oilers to play the Flames and the Panthers first up. I listened to the Panthers game on the radio this morning, no idea how the Oilers won that game, out played and outshot more than 2:1. Scored goals via two great deflections and a controversial "kick" from Horcoff (T Hall's first point).

I'll be keeping a keen eye on them as I have Hall and Eberle in my fantasy teams. I find it a bit strange that Hall wears number 4. For starters it is traditionally a defenceman's number (except for the greatest number 4 of all time) and secondly it was Kevin Lowe's number. I would have thought that number was retired up north but apparently not yet.

I know he was the first to really play like an extra forward, but Orr was definitely a defenceman. ;)
