heard a few rumurs from the wydhamvale players that thy have recruted very hard and have some big name maybe on bored. about 5 div1 players and 2 great edfl playrs.

i saw evo at 2 finals talkin to players can u confirm evo?

one of youre boys told me you are playing next year is that true to evo? are u still fit? you wuld need to grow your dredloks again for people to rememmber you lol

LU we as every club are always looking to improve our list at this time of the year and any club that doesnt (even priemership teams) is not doing their club full service.... between myself and the other coaching staff we know a fair few good players as like any other coach in the league and we will talk to as many people as it takes to make our club great again.

we have a great young list and we wont be going as hard as u say with recruiting but yes i have and will talk to some experianced heads to get to our club but i dont know where these confirmed recruites are u talk of.

one of my main aims at the moment is to give as much exposure to our 3 kids up for the draft and securing a small part of history in that if jack fitzpatrick, joey halloran and majak daw all get drafted we may be one of the first local teams to have more than 2 draftees in the one year from a club outside state or vsfl approved leagues. all three of these boys will go to state screening next month and with some luck they will all get drafted.

the future of our club is very promising and hopefully one day we can be talked about in the same breathe as the big few div1 clubs.....well thats my long term goal and mandate at the club anyway.

and yes i will be pulling the boots on next year and hoping to get back to the same form i was in when i stopped, but i wont be growing the dreds again my main aim is to prevent the grey hairs from poking thru and the best way to do that is by keepin the doo short hahahahahahaha

evo i play seniors in the edfl but follow the wrfl results a bit. must say i am very impressed with the way you respond about your club the way you promote your club and your professionalism. i am on the lookout for a new club in 2010. if i lived in the area whyndamvale would be very tempting

we as a coaching staff have set out a plan going forward for the club as we see it to succeed.... as soon as anything we have proposed is confirmed and official i will be sure to inform the BF subscribers.

what i will tell u is that the entire coaching group we have is a very staunch group and all have the same vision for the club, planning has started a long while ago for both 2010 and 2011 with sustained success the major goal.

Great work evodafalcon, it is great to see that a bit of hard work and a passion for your club pay off. i hope you get your club up to a very competetive team and maybe snatch a finals birth in 2010. this will only make the competition more competitive and attractive to the outsider who is contemplating making a move to the WRFL.:thumbsu:

Keep playing your juniors and you will reep the rewards, at my club we have had roughly 90% ex juniors playing seniors this year and we just got knocked out in the prelim, your always going to need a couple of recruits, that's footy but juniors will take you a long way to the ultimate goal.:thumbsu:

Dont think so Evo, see this in the Age today

Caught in the headlights

THE biggest shock in local footy finals this season was recorded in the Western Region League division-two grand final between Parkside and Deer Park at Werribee's Chirnside Park on Saturday. Parkside went into the game undefeated; its average winning margin during the home-and-away rounds was 71 points. Deer Park had to win the last three rounds just to make the finals. Then Deer Park defeated Laverton, Albanvale and North Footscray in the finals to make the grand final. Deer Park president Mark McGoldrick said the Lions gave themselves a chance before the game because they had a young side on a big ground. At half-time Parkside led by 21 points. But then Deer Park began to run all over them and the Magpies had no answer. "It was totally unfamiliar for them," McGoldrick said. The tale of the game was embodied by Deer Park midfielder Shaun Harrison, a 19-year-old who had 32 possessions after half-time. Parkside's 34-year-old centre half-forward Sedat Sir, the former Footscray defender, was among the Magpies who starred early before running out of puff. At the 20-minute mark of the last quarter, Sir's opponent, Wayne Duggan, streamed downfield to kick the sealer from outside 50. The Lions won by 21 points. "It was one of those blue-collar jobs," McGoldrick said. "The underdog got up." The curious twist in the tale is that Deer Park will reject promotion to first division. The president said his club's player bill this season was $17,000, a fraction of what would have to be spent to be competitive if the Lions were to go up. "We can't afford it," McGoldrick said.

well i hope that is not the case, we didnt mention going up or down in the convo i had yesterday just general footy chat. i would have thought that any club that has the chance to go up would take it with both hands and the majority of the club would be behind the move players, official, supporters and most of all sponsors... with the confidence and good showing suni heights showed in div1 this year i would think clubs would decide to take that chance...

i suppose all div2 clubs could take this as a kick in th butt to really assess where their club is at and ntry to develop a CLUB and TEAM that will not only attempt to win our flag but be fully sustainable in div1 with out major changes and spending..... this is a long process that could take years and it is something me and my coaching staff and commitee are trying to do for the vales.....have sustained success in any division. maybe clubs can look towards combining footy spending back into the club and juniors and focusing on prologed longevity for their club....just a thought from my head boys.

without looking into the rules or league constitution...what happens with promotion relegation this year then.... parkside up??? no one up???? west footscray down???? does the league auction a promotion???? can deer park choose to go up then in 2011 even if they dont win flag next year??? i may have to look into this

That is a bit of a cop out. Sunshine Heights premiership seasons's player bill was zero dollars. If we can go up to division 1 and beat the likes of altona and st.albans and push sunshine YC then there is no reason why deer park shouldn't go up. Who knows when they will get their next chance, premierships dont come easy.

Well if thats the case, all that has come out of the year is deer park keeping parkside, a team that was the best team all year, down!

And i know that if Parkside where offered the chance to go up they would take it as they where probably the only club with that intention at the start of the year!

Not quite true young fella.

Every club has different circumstances and lets remember they fell into the finals and were not quite planning financially and personnel wise to go up quite so quickly. As much as the uninformed football public can easily judge the reality is there is no real real substance to the Neanderthal type comments of "that's weak as piss not to go up".
Who knows when they will get their next chance, premierships dont come easy.

Dead right there.

Well done on a superb year too. With your best footy still to come fair chance you will top the voting one day.

Fair enough. I wouldn't see it as weak from deer park to not go up, just a missed opportunity if they decide to stay down, as it will be tough to do the same again given that parkside stay as strong and you never know what improvement will come from some of the other clubs.

p.s. hopefully that best footy will be in A1 finals in the not too distant future.

Agree 100 % for me it's 2 in 31 year but as much as they want to be strong in A1's the bottom line is they are getting stronger as a club and are still kicking a footy around.

If you have the same coach in 3 or 4 years anything is possible.

Before anyone else messages me i am not applying for the Nth Footscray coaching job.

thats right..''should'' is my most hated word........

well if its out now well i may as well add to it.......though not 100% sure still whats going on......

lets be honest d/p wernt the strongest side through out the year but when push come to shove they played as a team and nothing could stop them.......it was a fairy tail ending to a pretty good year.......who at the start of the finals picked deer park to win the granny.........= no 1.......not even myself........

my opinion d/p cant go up.....if they do the premiership team would have to be in the reserves and would have to pay out big dollars to build another team......prez got up and spoke on the sunday after the granny and he was so right in what he said about first division......he has been there as coach before and won a flag with the big $$$$ and jamie madigan was played in it too... the 2 blokes went away to 1st div once d/p were relegated its taken so so so so bloody long to get where the boys got to on the w/e.......why because they are great d/p people with blue n gold blood as all people in that room that night have........now here comes my point would i want the club to go up to be a west footscray/nth sunshine.......no.......heights exceeded all expectations this season well done to them........and dont say they wernt paying the year they won the flag because i know they were........fact.....and in my opinion they arnt out of the woods yet.......

end of the day to be a succesful div 1 team/club you need the jnrs comming through to play snrs......i look at the altona's hoppers colts spotty's....we havnt had that........next year we will have our own 18's not sharing with any 1 so there is an added bonus if we dont go up a couple more years of developing these kids into snr players......atm we have great numbers in the jnrs along with the last 3 years a bonus of 3 premierships for the kids to be a part of we will have constant u/18 teams for the next 5 or 6 years......thats how you develop a club in my opinion to be a div 1 club........we have the facilites we have the structure in the jnr department and the commitee hell bent on playing 1st division........but now in my opinion isnt the time.........parkside will be in the same boat
as would nth foots and albanvale........no $$$ no div 1.......put the money into the jnrs and build the kids to be your future div 1 players.....is that soft/weak.........i dont think so......its looking at the long jepardy of the club........

p.s herd on the grapevine some 1 orderd 100 pizza's to the parkside clubrooms on sunday night..........ahhhhhhhhh what a classic:rolleyes:

That is the most sense you have ever made weapons, well said from your point of view.

From an outsider looking in, DP have done all the right things to date in way of re-building though even if you stay down for a couple of years you are not going to walk into D1 and be a force in your first year. therefor i think you need to do the hard yards for a couple of years in D1 with this team you have. It will be alot easier to recruit if you are in D1, rather than D2 i would imagine. I will be spewing if West stay up, crap ground and even worse facilities, you guys would be much more competitive than them.

Maybe one day you could get back to the old DP days. Use to love watching those games between Seddon, DP and Spotswood.

now here comes my point would i want the club to go up to be a west footscray/nth sunshine.......no.......heights exceeded all expectations this season well done to them........and dont say they wernt paying the year they won the flag because i know they were........fact.....and in my opinion they arnt out of the woods yet.......
Difference here is weapons that the boys stuck fat to the club and stayed on board!! what most teams that go up DONT do !! and it shows that if people are loyal to a club you can win 3 -4 games for the season and build from there.

to say your club hasnt got money is bulls**t ! the rumors are that you guys have at least 40k in the bank and if not are in a great position to generate money!! what you are trying to do is get DP in a position where it can generate more money and then go to DIV 1 with a big bankroll and do a marby park where you can try and make top 5 straight away..

when altona stayed down they lost the respect of everyone in div 2 in the WRFL and deer park will be the same if by some miracle you are allowed to stay down..

If you dont go up you make a mockery of what clubs like Parkside & North Footscray were and will continue to try and achieve and that is to get their clubs back into Div 1 and fight to stay there no matter what the situation is at the club!!

If you guys stay down I hope you dont win another flag for 10 years and dont get the opporunity to go up again!

Totally agree Minty
Integratity of the competition says you go up......Altona lost respect and also should take responsibility for Nth Sunshine's demise in being made to stay up when it was clear that they needed to regroup in Div 2 after doing the hard yards in Divy 1.........
Why the hell would you play in Div 2 if you do not aspire to play in Div 1 ????
