i think all these ruckman will have good breakout years this year. They are all from the same draft and they are all the same age. Renouf will have a lot of responsibility this year and i know he is up to it.

Goldstein and Hampson are both basketballers who used to play against each other.

Luenberger was rated the best but has been injured.

i think Renouf will have the best year because they are all pretty equal on talent but Renouf will have the most responsibility because Goldstein is behind Mcintosh, Luenberger is behind Clarke and Hampson is behind Warnock so will not get much game time but renouf will have a lot.

who do you think will have the best year this year and will be the best player if 5 years??

2006 was a very good year for ruckman. will probably be the best evr year for ruckman if all of these guys are stars.

Renouf:
200cm
99kg
21 yrs and 10 months
23 career games
Pick 24 2006 draft

Goldstein:
201cm
102kg
21 yrs 8 months
16 career games
pick 37 2006 draft

Hampson:
201cm
100kg
21 yrs 11 months
27 career games
pick 17 2006 draft

Luenberger
204cm
102kg
21 yrs 9 months
22 career games
pick 4 2006 draft

Goldstein and Renouf. Hampson looks like he could be ok but Warnock might bump him out of the team. I haven't really seen much from Berger, so I'm not sure what is expected of him but I'd have Charman ahead of him because he adds more to the team as a backup for Clark. Use his crazy man syndrome and rough up the opposition ruckman, so Clark can come back on and dominate.

Honestly, the output from all four have been very similar. I would still probably take them in the order they were drafted except I would probably take Goldstein before Renouf. All four will be out-shinned by the Big Fijian :)

i think Charman is injured but i think Brisbane will play Luenberger any way because he has much more talent that Charman

Have to go With Goldy or Burger here. Hampson and Renouf look to have some spud factor about them but a fair bit of potential.

Goldy has been slotting some unbelievable running goals this preseason. Love him.

Should be really interesting. The positive for us with Renouf is practically everytime we've thrown him in the deep end, he's stepped up the task (against Jolly in Sydney last year being the exception). We're hoping for a Ryder/Clark-esque development from him this year (although we're not expecting him to become as good as either of them), this should be his break-out year and hopefully silence a lot of idiots who think we're completely void of talent in the ruck.

Goldstein could be the real bolter with his ability to kick goals, but as someone said, his development might be limited with playing 2nd fiddle to McIntosh

Kreuzer and McEvoy turns 21 this season as well - so you can throw them in the mix

not kruezer because i think he will be much more of a forward
than a ruckman with hampson and warnock and no carlton forward line. and they are both about a year behind these four but i dont thin mcevoy will be ever as god as these four.

i think renouf will be the best then goldstein then luenbeger then hampson then mcevoy

well who do you think then? or are you just going to be like every other eagle and say naitanui in every thread like two have already even though he is not in the group i am talking about - surprise surprise:rolleyes::rolleyes:?

considering he's not 21...

i'd have renouf and hampson battling for last spot

goldy and mcevoy for 1st

and burger at 3

kreuzer comfortably above all of them when carlton realise he isn't a kpf

However, after watching the 20-year-old put in an awesome display in the ruck against the Crows, Ratten was adamant Kreuzer would remain on the ball in season 2010.

"That is the debate whether we play him forward or in the ruck and certainly Matty Lappin, as our forward line coach, wants him to play forward while our midfield coaches Mark Riley and Robert Harvey, are fighting like crazy to keep him in the midfield," Ratten said post-match.

"But his performance today shows why he will play in the ruck."

Berger and Goldy comfortably better than the other two. Renouf just has to become a player this year and he is underrated. Hampson is incredibly athletic but may struggle to get an opportunity this year.

I think it will be hard for Goldy to shine while McIntosh rucks so much so probably a few of the others who have less competition.

I'm surprised Burger is only 21. If he can get on the park he will comfortably finish his career well ahead of this lot. He is a thoroughbred.

1. Luenberger
2. Goldstein

gap

3. McEvoy
4. Hampson

gap

5. Renouf

Still, Renouf will be a pretty good bustler.

Good group of rucks. With Kruezer and Natanui also in there, there will be a lot of good ruckmen running around in 5 years.

All of them will be average at best. Nicknat > daylight > them

NicNat looks good, but on the other hand, it wasn't that long ago you weagles supporters were constantly going on about how that Nicoski bloke was the >>>>>>>>>>>>> than any other young player in the league...

You seem to have a tendency to wear blinkers.

Its a tough question, given that all these players have shown glimpses but not much more.

In terms of footy smarts id say Goldstein is ahead of the pack, with hampson comfortably last and the others pretty close together. however id basically reverse the list in terms of athleticism.

Luey is due to perform as a highly touted youngster, and as the 2nd best ruckman he will get a good amount of game time.
Mcevoy looks like a big unit this year and has come on alot, but i prefer him as a KPF and he will struggle for TOG.
Goldstein has shown the most so far IMO and should continue to improve in 2010.
Renouf had a good 08 but looked sluggish last year and doesnt excel in any one area (though i havent seen alot of him i admit).
Hampson is still raw and could be a star but is 3rd in line and is still 1-2 years off hitting his straps.

so in terms of 2010 i think the list will be:

Goldstein > Leuenberger > Hampson > Renouf > Mcevoy
