Which the Kings will then hate when he turns into a spud as they try to open up offensively. He's an average goalie on a great defensive team. Doesn't have to make the tough saves often.

Sounds like they shouldn't have won anyway, was a dodgy goal that got them through, Doan and Tippett very unhappy about it.

This stat shows how bad the Kings are offensively.. that was Quicks 20th NHL shutout, 7 of them 1-0.

Another superb series capped off with Sigur Rós closing out the final scenes. Doesn't get any better than that. :thumbsu:

One of tonight's highlight: Sean Avery's NHL career ends with a clip of Avery wondering if the orange juice at their hotel is unlimited.

:D

You should take your show on the road. :D

Challenge: find one NHL goaltender analyst with half an ounce of repute who agrees with your assessment.

When you fail, I'll find 5 who reckon he is elite to bordering on elite. :thumbsu:

Disagree about Quick, hes a dam good goalie, LA's D is ok, but they make several mistakes which he bails them out on.

Agree on the goal they scored tonight, I only had a short look but it look like the net was up, shouldn't have counted..the puck went straight past and didnt touch the back of the net.

Ergh.. lame. But by the sounds of it, it's all the NHL's fault for being douches.

NHLPA official statement: http://www.nhlpa.com/news/media-rel...ector-don-fehr-regarding-proposed-realignment

“On the evening of December 5, 2011, the NHL informed the NHLPA that they proposed to put in place a four-conference format beginning with the 2012-13 season. As realignment affects Players’ terms and conditions of employment, the CBA requires the League to obtain the NHLPA’s consent before implementation. Over the last month, we have had several discussions with the League and extensive dialogue with Players, most recently on an Executive Board conference call on January 1. Two substantial Player concerns emerged: (1) whether the new structure would result in increased and more onerous travel; and (2) the disparity in chances of making the playoffs between the smaller and larger divisions.

East teams bitching about travel. How bout Winnipeg? Poor bastards in the South East again lol.

Or maybe it's the NHLPA making a stand going into the CBA negotiations. Lock out on the cards?

IM not 100% sure on the stats but I think Dallas travels he most miles of any team, so the stars are hanging for realignment.

Not quite...

San Jose last year, LAX this year.

A funny stat, NJD traveled the least in each season

http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2011/6/23/2240779/nhl-travel-miles-by-team-super-schedule

That stat for LA is a little skewed as they had to go to Europe for their first couple of games. So take off about 8,000 miles or so. Same for Buffalo and Anaheim.

Not surprised that NJ (or either of the NY teams) would be near the least traveled teams. Some of their games barely involve a bus ride across a bridge.

You're right it has.

That was the Kings' first loss in regulation under Sutter.

6-1-3 with misery guts in charge.
Which is exactly what they were doing at the start of the season, before the losing streak that cost Murray his job.

LA Kings are averaging 1.6 goals per game in their last 16 games. Ouch.

It would obviously be better if they were scoring and losing games 6-4 and 5-3. :thumbsu:

15 points from a possible 20.
Yeah but the point is, how long can they continue to win these marginal games? They've been lucky so far winning all these extremely close, low scoring games, they dropped one 1-0 today, who's to say it won't continue? Hard winning 1-0 and 2-1 all the time.

Of course it looks better when you are scoring and losing, because the chances were there.

Exactly.. look at the difference between LA and Boston. Boston can hold a team to 0 and still score. LA Can't hold a team to nil if it attempts to score, so Sutter is playing it right at the moment. The only problem is, they don't do it against any good sides and if a losing streak comes his way, he's back to looking exactly like what Murray was. The LA Fans are still not happy about not being able to score either.
