Vettel did Q2 on the primes as well, I think. Great lap from Vettel. Glad he got the pole over Hamilton, as the BBC cheerleading was doing my head in.

How annoying... the way they carry on you would think Hamilton was doing his times in a ****ing Datsun, I know they're the BBC but they also know they broadcast(as far as I know) to all the main English speaking markets. The funny thing is even though Button is British you can tell they would be disappointed if he out did Hamilton.

Anyways onto the actual Qualifying, was impressed by Vettel.. seems another win on the way for young Hitsy.. However looking at the times I think we could have a ripper of a race... does not seem to be a lot between the big 3 teams.

Vettel was definitely on supersofts in Q2

If you guys thought the Hamilton cheerleading was annoying during qualy, you should have seen last race after they had stopped broadcasting to the world. It was painful.

Ordinary effort from Webber, says he just wasn't good enough, didn't have the grip and pace. And starting on the dirty side.

"Fernando, Felipe is faster than you" :)

Hope so. Cant be any complaints this year.

It is, Aussies go nuts on there.

I didn't realize you could be unliked by something... it seems RBR have taken away my like of them as I no longer 'like' them from no doing of by own. A simple question is all I asked and I was given the shaft... I ask you BF F1 fans no I am not wanted by RBR where should I go?

*edit* deleted my comments too... what a bunch of losers.

Absolutely. He's done all he could do in that car the last couple of races. Brought it home each time, no mistakes, hasn't taken anyone out, and finished ahead of more fancied rivals.
Will be interesting to see what Toro Rosso do with the their line up for next year. Buemi had a decent start to the season and Alguersuari was struggling, now it has reversed.

Very happy with 2nd and 3rd, just wish Webber was on pole instead of Vettel that way you could guarantee a McLaren would be in the lead by the end of the first lap

You carry on like a tool then wonder why they block you?

Seems Mark forgot to use his DRS on his final qualy lap. He didn't notice because his speed was the same as his last lap (KERS wasn't working on his first run) but didn't realise until it was too late.

That's a bit amateurish. Both from Mark and from his engineer for not realising.

Didn't use his DRS? Was he day dreaming or something... that's pretty poor unless there was a mechanical issue.

Said he pushed the DRS button too early on the straight so it didn't activate, but he didn't realise because he was using KERS so his split time was the same as his last lap. Didn't realise until about Turn 5 and only started using DRS then.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Eleven - Hungarian Grand Prix Budapest (29-31 July 2

Goes a fair way to explaining why he only qualified 6th, I'd be worried if that was the absolute best he could do with everything working as it should.

Means he still has something up his sleeve in the race from a performance improvement perspective. Having said that though I think the best he can hope for is a podium, and that's going to be damn though with both Ferrari's and MacLaren's ahead of him.

Just a terrible qualifying for Webber, 6th and worse still, on the dirty side of the track. Wouldn't be surprised to see him 8th after the first few corners, knowing his starts.

Yeah, will be interesting to see if he improves from his previous starts from 6th on the grid. Maybe the fact that he won't have as many eyes on him, might see him not feel the pressure as much? Or do you feel that it's a car issue?

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Eleven - Hungarian Grand Prix Budapest (29-31 July 2

Both Rb7's had issues with the rear wing yesterday that required work to repair....seems mark was the unlucky one again.

His first q3 time if he had KERS would of probably saw him 3rd, his second q3 time was interupted by Buttun who hampered webbers ability to warm his tyers suffiecently...

It just wasn't marks day, however in the last 2 sectors of his q3 time ..... he mmatched the p1 guy
He needs to pass Massa early, and he'll need to get his pit stops right and especialy his out lap if he pits before whoever is in front of him.

With times so close this race could be won by those who deal with the traffic and the pit stops better....not much overtaking here.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Eleven - Hungarian Grand Prix Budapest (29-31 July 2

Odd side of the grid dry, even side wet.....parts of the racing line wet, others dry.

If you have a moment your likely to wet your tyers and loose temp and thus loose traction.

First guy around will be brave if he doesnt back up the rest........

2o cars heading to whats proven a tricky first corner at 200 k's within a few seconds of being motionless on dodgy track, has to be compelling viewing.

Hasn't been a stack on the first corner of a track this season has there? Can remember a few minor things towards the back of the field.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Eleven - Hungarian Grand Prix Budapest (29-31 July 2

Big advantage for McLaren and Ferrari if the race is called wet. There will be no need to run the soft tyres at all. Also Hamilton has a brand new set of super soft for use at some stage.

anyone else got live timing running, it's telling me there's no live session

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Eleven - Hungarian Grand Prix Budapest (29-31 July 2

I kind of expect Webber to lose a few places at the start :p
