Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Don't those team radio audio come in a lap or so after it was said...

The commentators only mention it every second race or so.

But hey, it's an easy thing to forget when it helps your argument

Still don't think Mark would of passed Seb, but pisses me off that Horner would even say it.

Hmm. I had actually forgotten that.

Doesn't change my mind that it's hardly a big issue. Reactions here are still WAY over the top.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Ive come to the conclusion that you are either:
a) a complete heckin'g idiot who thinks 3/4 of a lap is plenty of time to overtake
b) a Vettel nuthugging troll.

Either of those 2 options dont paint you in a good light. Seriously youre a ********.

Welcome to my ignore list.

Webber had the whole race to try to beat Vettel. Not 3/4 of a lap. It's not the team's fault that Webber stuffed up his start yet again and allowed Vettel to pull away at the first stint. RBR were only doing what's logical in the circumstances: having two cars guaranteed a 2-3 finish or risk both cars not finishing the race ... hmm ...

If this exact situation were to be reversed, it'd be Vettel that gets told to hold position, simply because it's better to have a guaranteed podium than risk a DNF.

Do you really believe that?

I guarantee you that if the situations were reversed and Vettel got told to maintain the gap, nobody here would be saying a word about it.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Interesting news there from Ted Kravitz in the BBC post race forum. Webber was given the order 5 times, Webber confirmed that he ignored those orders but eventually complied. Webber was going ape shit that he wasn't given a fair go at maximising his points as Seb didn't need the points. Said he will consider whether or not he stays with RBR at the end of the year.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Horner's just said that if roles were reversed Vettel would've been told to hold position.

Now I'll give you all a moment so you can call him a liar.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Horner was just doing he's job, he has to look at the situation without the passion and excitement we all have for the race as it unfolds. he had the ability for 2 cars to finish 2nd and 3rd and thats what he got.

The sad part for me is that he can just wheel this justification out for any future incident that might arise between Vettel and Webber. Webber has to be allowed to race Vettel to win the world championship and i doubt he will get that chance sitting in a Red Bull. Unless Mark can nail race wins from here on without having to directly race Vettel for position then Mark is always going to be the 2nd driver at Red Bull.

And besides all that. Webber was the one risking more than Vettel, If Vettel DNF's he's lead is cut to about 50 points? if Webber DNF'd he would be back in 3rd or 4th on the table with all the more work to do.

If Webber thinks he has it in him to win the world championship he has to know now he wont do it at Red Bull...

Yes. There's he's pointing out that team orders are against the rules. Which at the time they were. Now they're not.

Your point?

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Oh, and also Massa got told to let Alonso past because he was holding him up and Vettel (from memory) was catching him. Also there was more than half the race to go.

Please tell me you're not trying to compare the incidents? That's be the definition of a long bow.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

I'm no expert but if they really wanted to stop Webber they would have given the team orders about 3 laps earlier wouldn't they? They let Webber go at him for a few laps and it was good to watch. Once the order came it was unlikely he would have passed him in the end anyway.

They actually did, flash back to when Hamilton was told to turn down his engine to save fuel. Red Bulls instructions to Webber was "Mclaren may be bluffing to get us to waste or tires, take it easy".

They said this because they didn't want the possibility of Webber catching Vettel before the end of the race, the last lap they just got desperate and made the order clear for all to see.

I am sure our resident flogs Manwith.. and Bus24 will give you some bs excuse as why that wasn't team orders but they are just unpaid trolls we have to put up with. The reality is no team ever tells their driver to take things easy when they know the driver in front has an issue.

Yes, Christian Horner really should've let his two cars go side by side into the last couple of corners of the last lap. That worked so well last time they were side by side last year.

So why all last year did they tell Webber to turn down his engine and let Vettel attack him which caused that accident? Why did they never tell Vettel to "maintain the gap" to Webber when they could have sealed a Webber world title?

Cut your bullshit and just admit there is clear favoritism going on and has been for the last 2 seasons at least.

lol'd, he definately did the same thing last year when Webber was leading the WDC, oh wait he said he would let both his drivers go at it last year and now he is saying he would in force team orders either way?????

The man puts a spin on things better then Gillard with carbon tax.

And if their is favoritism? so what.
Vettel is faster, younger and much more marketable. He is the future of the team.
Webber is a solid number 2 driver, but not a team leader

You sound like one of those 9/11 conspiracy nutters. You realise that, right?
Good job buddy, you can't reply to someone so you just say something random to attempt some sort of small victory on your part.

Why do you even post here? Your not Australian so just piss off.

No he's saying he'd let them race during a race. Which he did. Ie. Turkey.

But last couple of laps with a win out of reach? "nah that's it guys, just bring the cars home".

Because Vettel winning the title really makes the team look great and sells more energy drinks right?

FYI it matters because rejects like bus24 and manwith have been bullshitting on for a good 2 years about how everything is supposedly even, its ironic that they now have to eat humble pie on the subject.

Its even more funny because they still even with facts they cannot dispute put to them, try to deny favoritism for their wonder kid.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

If Webber wasn't so ridiculously behind Vettel in the championship Red Bull might have let them gone at it like they generally have in the past, but with Team Orders now perfectly legal and Vettel so far ahead in the championship, telling Webber not to pass was the only sensible thing to do (However Webber did choose to ignore them).

I don't need to reply to this, even you know the real truth your surely not that naive.

You keep telling yourself that. Perhaps we can just look at the situation objectively. Not constantly trying to justify why Vettel beats Webber. No doubt you're convinced Webber would've passed him without "team orders".

All the teams have used team orders before, just part of the sport.

Re: 2011 Formula One World Championship - Round Nine - British Grand Prix Silverstone (8-10 July 201

Webber will need to go for another team next year if he isn't happy at RBR. By now he should be looking at a new ride. If he continues at Red Bull, that's gonna be his fault alone.
