Can someone please explain the swap of picks between Hawthorn & Freo that just happened? I dont get it from a Hawks POV? Or is it somewhat goodwill for something else that has/will happen?

Bourman from Box Hill got traded from GWS to Hawthorn for one of the picks they grabbed from Freo.

Still can't be the whole picture.

Jason Phelan: The Roos only have two representatives here and they just left. Done for the day or morning tea?

Must have already signed off on the Caddy deal since he grew up barracking for them, his grandfather played for them etc etc.. :p

Accept the offer GC or lose him for noting next year.

Your choice.

Most teams (not you if Daniher costs a first round pick next year) have more to offer next near than this year, he may lose value or gain value next year but its likely they would get at least as much next year. On top of that next years draft is described to be stronger.

I'm worried that Essendon may do something desperate to get Caddy. Please gentlemen don't give up the farm this year. There will be more available next year and even if we finish higher we'll have a better draft pick to sell. Hoping that Daniher misses a lot of next year. I suggest the club gets him in the gym all year so he is sore each week and doesn't star in TAC and nationals.

He doesn't mean both packaged together does he?

Im assuming it's #19 + Hooker/Gumby

If so, please make it happen.

The way I heard it was that hutchy said hooker, gumbleton and 19 isnt enough. LOL. Plough agreed lol.

For a player who wants to head back to Melbourne to be closer to their ill father, they'd be nuts not to take it. Surely if they screw him on this, with the Bombers already offering overs, that they will lose his commitment.

Hooker will be a loss but Gumby wont be missed at all. Likely to be delisted/traded after next year anyway.

Make it happen Essendon!

It's obvious GC are trying to call our bluff. Really, if Caddy wants to come home that badly (especially with his father being sick), they almost have to trade him; they'd be cutting off their nose to spite their face keeping someone on the list when they patently don't want to be there. No point keeping a playing there whose heart isn't in it.

And I have to say, I really DON'T like the idea of giving up Hooker. Gumbleton, I'm more open to, but then I doubt GC would take him, there's too much doubt as to whether his injuries will ever allow him to fulfill his undoubted potential. Big shame.

Just in terms of team structures.

With Joe D coming, perhaps Hurley does play as a back as Hookers replacement.

or even Hird sees Ryder as a CHB after his performance against Collingwood.

Just a thought
