Donald gets up and moves to no.3 in the world? Really? He has been hit and miss recently imo. I think he was just inside the top 10 before this week but it's a huge jump. Not sure how the rankings really work but he seems to high.

I'd have it as:

1. Kaymer
2. McDowell
3. Westwood
4. Mickelson
5. Kuchar? - Probably needs a win at a major/matchplay but he has been brilliant the past 12 months.

Thats pretty good - don't know about Phil M though being that high.

1. Kaymer
2. McDowell
3. Westwood
4. Rory
5. Kuchar
6. Dustin Johnson
7. Phil M
8. Donald
9. Casey
10. Watney/Schwartzel/Woods/Bubba/Wilson/Mahan/Goosen/F Molinari

Can't believe Els and Furyk are still 11 & 12 respectively. Both are out of form and Els has putting issues which is not a good sign.

Incredible that Casey could not even make the last Ryder Cup squad. Europe is dominant at the moment. In fact, the Euro Tour is probably stronger than the US Tour.

Should have replied earlier but I'll do it now.

I should rephrase - so much inconsistent talent. I know the course was tough, but there is no way known he should be shooting +20 in 2 rounds.

2009 he missed more cuts than he made and his best finish in the US after Feb was 35th.
2010 started to turn it around, got the win, then had a good finish to the year got another win in Singapore putting conventially. Then comes out this year and he's switched to a long putter.

And his record in majors is quite frankly a disgrace for someone with his talent.

Anyway to get everyone ready for Friday

I'm tipping Allenby or Ogilvy to be the best of the Australian's this weekend.

They will be "on" early, as they play with Tiger and Phil respectively, and if one of Tiger or Phil get going in the first 2 rounds, they could drag the Aussies with them.:thumbsu:

Allenby apparently spent plenty of time with Jack Nicklaus during the week, which can never be a bad thing leading into a Masters.:)

My tip is still Mickelson, although I'd love to see a European win, it's been so long (12 years?).

Paul Casey to be the surprise euro this week also.:D

Dear channel 10,

I prefer to see the players score, not your logo.

Also loving the subtle cross promotion with the Australian leaderboard calling it the US Master championship.

Wow, what a first round, some of the scores are astonishing.

Love seeing Rory tied for the lead, it's only a matter of time before he is in real contention for a major, and it may just be here.

Mickelson(-2) and Woods (-1) solid to start, and Ogilvy the best of the Aussies.

Martin Kaymer at +6 = massive failure.

I watched about 15 minutes this morning while getting ready for work and had to rub my eyes a few times when I realised I couldn't read the scores either.

64 -8 to Jason day, glad I got up at 5:30 to watch it. Sensational round of golf

Lets hope the weekend lives up to the hype. Leaderboard is stacked with possibilities.

Great round from Day, great to see a couple of Aussies on the first page of the leaderboard.

Stunning round by Day, and he won't be overawed being in the final group either, as he seemed to love playing with McIlroy in the first 2 rounds.

Ogilvy still our best chance, and he's a real "live" chance at that.:)

Woods 3 back, he needs to at least have a tie for the lead after the 3rd round to win, history tells us.;)

Set up for a great final 2 rounds.:)

Very exciting second round. Day absolutely blitzed it. He had that low punch draw working a treat. Woodsy looks to be making a run at it but I can;t tell these days if they are the real shiz or just a moment of brilliance. Kaymer by far has been the biggest failure still yet to make a cut there in his career. He also cost me a little $ :(

My best roughie at this stage is Quiros and if the weather wasn;t so bad in Melb atm I'd probs drive to the tab and throw a small 10er on at 34-1. Don't be surprised to see him turn it on tomorrow, huge hitter, great touch and a solid putter.

Looking forward to tomorrow!
