God forbid Kennedy would decrease Fev's goals per game average.

O well, there loss.

I really hope that Kennedy gets back to his early season form and continues it for a full season.

I hope so too. CHF is a very tough gig and I think JK tired little by little as the season went along last year. In earlier years he had injury / fitness issues, so just playing out most of a full season was a real positive. On normal maturity grounds, he should be stronger again this year. Early training reports suggest he is going pretty well. He is not a "soft style" of fast leading CHF and he does take some seriously big hits, so a sound fitness base is crucial. We haven't had a CHF with his genuine potentail before this. He kicked 30 of his 41 goals in the first 11 rounds of 2010. So he has the potential to kick 60+ if he can maintain his condition throughout a full season. Here's hoping !

I rekon a few big grabs early on could really set up his and our season. Last year he got most of it from hard leads, we need a good aerilst to stress opposition backman.

No Emac? No way...

North are having a terrible run with injuries ATM, losing Bastinac, Cunnington, McIntosh and Grima reportedly out for our clash in Round 1. Hopefully we can keep our own injuries down(touch wood) and come in with a good chance to win.

B: Butler, MacKenzie, Glass
HB: Hurn, Brown, Waters
C: Sheppard, Priddis, Rosa
HF: Strjk, Kennedy, LeCras
FF: Embley, Wilson, Hams(upgraded for Kerr)
RR: Cox, Shuey, S. Selwood

INT: Masten, Naitanui, Ebert S: Smith
EMG: Schofield, Swift, Weedon

Although no doubt I'll end up changing my prediction about ten times in the lead up to Round 1.

I think that is pretty close, but given our lack of experience is a key issue, I suspect that guys like A. Selwood and Lynch, if fully fit, may get a first up run ahead of guys like Hams and Wilson ? Being too conservative ?

What do you guys reckon about the "type" of player who will be used as a "Sub" ? My guess would be to use a mid-fielder rather than a KPP or Ruckman. I also think the Ruckmen may now have to play more as forward pocket. Allowing Dean and Nic to occasionally replace Le Cras - giving Lecca a run in the middle and giving a mid more bench time. That may also stuff up opposition defensive match-ups a bit as well. Any thoughts ?

Has Smith jumped ahead of Stevenson in the queue as yet ?

He's in my predicted, the second one there.

I don't like him as outright CHB. Only FB and in my preferred it was only a matchup thing to only want 2 talls + Brown (swingman, depends on how we use him). It basically just came down to him Vs Glass. Doesn't give us as much rebound as Schoey or Mitch.

Kerr to the LTIL is a big call IMO. If the club do this they are basically saying Kerr won't even play a WAFL game until round 9 of the AFL season, which is a fairly long time.

The question is will they risk not having him available when he may very well be fit to play in say round 4 or 5.

I can understand the club and Kerr taking a very cautious approach but another 8 weeks on the sidelines would be pretty depressing for Kerr. Then again if he does it again it would be career over.:(

I keep changing my mind depending on how i think the team would best function. I think i have my mind set now though.

FB Butler Glass A Selwood
HB Sheppard Schofield Hurn
C Gaff Masten Lecras
HF Shuey Kennedy Strijk
FF Embley Wilson Waters

R Cox Priddis S Selwood

Int Ebert Stevens Naitanui
Sub Rosa

Schofield doesn't have the strength to handle the bigger key forwards yet, Emac in a canter...

I'd say you're probably right. Woosha always seems to prioritise experience in Round 1.

This team is a combination of who i think is our best, who has a chance and who i think should be playing round 1.

Who will be North's second ruck if HMac doesn't play? You'd think we could really take advantage of the times when Goldstein is resting.

The latest report is that H-Mac will be ready for round 1, according to a radio interview I heard with Danial Pratt.

However, if he doesn't then it might cause issues.

The temptation would be to give Petrie a 5 minute run per quarter, but the whisper out of Arden Street is that he will stay permanently forward.

Majak Daw might even get a run.

I think it's more likely the North midfielders will zone off NicNat and Cox anyway. I think we will try to lock down the Eagles mids to negate any ruck advantage.

He may explode, I don't think he has anywhere near the fitness required for a high intensity, round one game at Subi.

No chance.
