This team is quick and has enough experience.

West Coast

C: T. Houlihan, Daniel Kerr, Sheppard

HF: Andrew Strijk, Josh Kennedy, Luke Shuey

F: Mark LeCras, Callum Wilson, Ashton Hams

Foll: Dean Cox, Scott Selwood, Tom Swift

I/C: M. Priddis, A. Selwood, Nic Naitanui, Koby Stevens,

Emg: Quinten Lynch, Lewis Stevenson, A. Embley. S. Butler, B. Ebert

Interesting that from 2006 to 2009 Kerry had 15 BOG's (according to the umpires) from only 20 vote-scoring matches (no 1 votes either), which is somewhat indicitave of a guy who when he is on form can totally destroy an opposition but we just don't see it enough, and there are too many games where his impact is minimal - particularly in the post Judd and Cousisn era where he has struggled to cope with a tag.

Well between 2006 and 2009 he's only played like, 23 games. so if he really has had 20 vote scoring matches that is quite unbelievable.

This is the team I want come Round 1:

B: Glass, MacKenzie, Butler
HB: Hurn, Schofield, Waters
C: LeCras, Swift, Kerr
HF: Strjk, Kennedy, Embley
FF: Hams, Wilson, Neates
RR: Naitanui, Shuey, S. Selwood

INT: Cox, Masten, Sheppard, Ebert

EMG: Brown, Smith, Stevens

Just put all our talented players out there and let them develop as a team, as opposed to vanilla 'tryers' who are at best a stop-gap.

However, this is the team I expect to see:

B: Waters, Glass, MacKenzie
HB: Hurn, Schofield, Sheppard
C: Embley, A. Selwood, Rosa
HF: LeCras, Kennedy, Shuey
FF: Hams, Hansen, Naitanui
RR: Cox, Priddis, Masten

INT: Ebert, Butler, Dalziell, McGinnity

EMG: Wilson, Swift, Brown

Nah. He's a hack who can't handle a tag. Or so they say.

He's cleary one of the top five midfielders in the comp.

This :thumbsu:

One of the best mids to watch in the competition when on song. I just remember the port adelaide game early last year when he racked up a crazy amount of touches in the second half. Won the game for us i think?

4 goals from a midfielder I believe, what an effort! :D + 28 possies

Ducking around players, winding up and kicking goals, was a good game all while under a strict tag ;)

You are all dreaming if you think that Priddis and A Selwood wont be lining up rd 1 next season.

They are best 22 when fit. Not doubts about it.

Agreed. I've I always wondered why there is so much hate on these 2 on this forum. All I have ever hear people say about Priddis is he's a bit slow, not too sure what they hate about A.Selwood

I'm sure that Priddis and Selwood could play bit part roles in many teams, its the fact that we seem to be basing our midfield and starting centre roles around these two players who lack pace and disposal skills - both of which are criminal issues to our side - that is most concerning to people.

I'd rather have a mid who gets less of the ball but disposes it better and more accurately, than a mid who gets lots of the ball but never gives it to a teammates advantage well.

No room for Rosa or Masten ??? :D

With full squad availability I'd imagine Woosha would pick a side something like this:

B: Sheppard Glass Schofield
HB: Waters MacKenzie Hurn
C: Rosa Kerr Embley
HF: Shuey Kennedy, Ebert
F: Hams Wilson LeCras

R: Cox, Priddis, A Selwood

I/C: Naitanui, S Selwood, Dalziell, Butler

EMG: Strijk Brown Masten

Semi-serious team:

FB: Waters Glass Mackenzie
HB: Hurn Schofield Butler
C: Houlihan LeCras Shepperd
HF: JON Kennedy Strijk
FF: Weedon Wilson Broome

Ruck: Cox, Kerr, Masten
IC: Nic Nat, Pick 4 (a mid), Smith, Priddis

Emg: Brown S. Selwood Hams

or he has played 60 games in that period. not much of a difference.

we all know when kerr is on song he's as good as midfielder there is in the competition, but we have seen very little of that since 2007. He'll turn 28 early next year so it's a massive season for him.

Yeah I didn't think you meant including 2006, my bad. :thumbsu:

This is my team

FB: Waters Glass Schofield

IIRC, Kerr was tagged by K.Cornes in the 1st quarter. K.Cornes got shifted onto A.Selwood, when A.Selwood started tearing it up. This left Kerr free, and that's when Kerr went on a rampage.

Kerr's game against Port in round 2 of 2009 is what will happen to most teams if Kerr is not heavily tagged.

Choco was in a bind at the time because Kerr and A.Selwood were playing very well. Choco's mistake was that he didn't play the odds well by choosing to tag A.Selwood over Kerr. 99 out of 100 times, that's the wrong move. Kerr's game reflected this.

Adam Selwood is the hospital handball king. His kicking is dreadful, he's a clanger merchant.

Remember the preseason match against Collingwood in 09. Was on a different playing field on that day.

I'd hope for something like this but probably wont be anywhere near it.

FB: Butler Glass Schofield
HB: Hurn Mackenzie Smith
C: Houlihan Masten Shepperd
HF: Shuey Kennedy Strijk
FF: Hams Wilson Lecras
Ruck: Cox, Kerr, S Selwood

IC: Natanui, Ebert, Waters, Swift

Emg: Stevens, Priddis, Brown

FB: Waters Glass EMac
CHB: Butler Brown Hurn
C: Embley Kerr Houlihan
CHF:Shuey Kennedy Strijk
FF:Hams Wilson Lecras
Foll: Cox Priddis ASelwood

INT:Naitinui Sheppard Masten Swift

No room for Ebert.

My real preference would be to see ASelwood go back into defence, shutting down the most dangerous small/medium player out of the game which is what he used to do back in the day. Either that or pure tagging.

I like it, I reckon Stevens might find himself in ahead of Swift but that's quibbling. Or possibly keep Embley in at HF, put Shuey on the bench as a mid rotation instead of Swift.

But you're right, A Selwood and Priddis will play round 1, fait accompli barring injury.

i havent watched the past 2 games yet, but i'll go something like this:

FB: A.Selwood Glass Schofield
HB: Hurn Mackenzie Butler
C: Rosa Priddis Shepperd
HF: Embley Kennedy Strijk
FF: Hams NN Lecras
Ruck: Cox, Kerr, Shuey

IC: Masten, Scooter, Waters, Swift

obviously FF is very much up for grabs, but i like putting NN there as it gives us more run overall.

hoping embley slots onto a forward flank, his influence up the ground is diminishing.

A.selwood in the backline is one i want to see, he's very sturdy back there and can lock down on the opposition's tricky medium sized forwards

FB: Butler - Glass - Brown
HB: Hurn - Mackenzie - Waters
C: Rosa - Masten - Sheppard
HF: Strijk - Kennedy - Shuey
FF: LeCras - Wilson - Hams
R: Naitanui - Kerr - S.Selwood

Int: Cox - Priddis - Ebert - Swift/Houlihan

Can't have 3 inside midfielders on the bench. Either Swift plays as a wingman, or he's dropped so as to have a reserve outside runner on the bench.
If WC don't have at least 1 extra outside runner on the bench, the team will continue to run out of legs late in games.

I'm assuming Rosa will stay an Eagle.
