No need to be suspicious of my big nose Occy, just giving the readers what they want to hear.
All right Squiggles, seems like Carey confident that they may have 15 good players and 25 ***** on the list. Got bottom 3 on the ladder written all over it. But lets move on. Who else's training have you been hiding behind trees at? Being a local Strathmore boy, you must get around a bit to see some of these sides train. I would have expected you to be giving hot tips about Old Essington, Terry or the St Bernadette's boys??

De la to perhaps struggle early. Lowe, Moore, fenton all in sth america till march. Shields hasnt trained and will return round 1 after wedding. Kelliher has retired and many kids at vfl clubs. Hale has returned from injury and brought his cousin from blackburn who can seriously play.

Interesting as I am pretty sure both clubs like both are training Monday Wednesday . I am starting to think the nutjob posting to himself as suggested by a couple of posters is starting to look likely. Is that you CC?

either that or the Carey Under 19's and Club XVIII will sweep all before them because they have been training the house down in front of Mr Squiggles on a Tuesday?

well i don't get over to the see the majenta ones in east bentleigh very often, but i did get along to see the OM's the other night. they will be much better this year. some very tall timber too, which is what they lacked in last couple of years. not sure they'll miss the defectors too much.

Pass me a cup of milo...loook warm thanks. Comon people, can't talk about Carey's Under 19's, the boys from bentleigh and the OOOOM's all week surely.

Not sitting on the fence mate, OC are an EXTREMELY talented side but they run out of puff with their last 3 or 4 on the bench, if they have a clean year injury wise look out, whereas most teams if they have an injury free year are happy to not get squashed(relegated) living in the land of the giants ruled by Old Xavs.
I agree Brian, OC looking good but its a long season........and l could name their best 15 if push came to shove.
Sauntner??? How old is he?????

Can't wait for the season to start............it will be a ripper.

right them off then

Hear hear - BigFooty A grade should be a broad church, just like A grade with the Micks, Anglos, Presbys and Wesleyans that play there!
Malcolm, Sounds like you'd love to see Ajax up in A Grade for good measure too?
And perhaps to round things out, a good old fashioned district side like the Monders from Gunn Reserve (not a pretend district side like SBMT right?).

haha I like Rah Rah, he shoots from the hip!!

Not much has been mentioned about the other side of Bulleen Rd? any word on how the T's are travelling?

I would have preferred a Parkside or Fawkner but unfortunately they were both deemed too rough for the preppy Phil Stevens and other softc_ck VAFA board members - bring back one of those sides and see things stirred up with the likes of Jacky King (Parkside) or Terry Young(Fawkner) - kapow!

Thanks for bringing back those memories Mal. Thanks for nothing. More hits in a single game up there at Fawkner than you would find in a whole season these days.

No fun at all as I recall.

ah yes, the great jackie king. old golden gloves. was on the wrong end of a right hook once from him. as opposed to playing old scotch - just little jabs there.

Come down tomorrow and watch the first ever BOAGS Preseason invitational @ at Bulleen Park, Bulleen and watch the OLD CAREY FC take on 7 other 2010 Premiers from different leagues for the $5000K in cash & prizes.
Gates open 10am and day finishes at 6pm. Jumping castle for kids.
OLD CAREY FC are a middle favorite on BETSTAR betting. A great bet considering some handy recruits from EFL, Laidlaw and of course Carl Peterson straight off the Hawks list after 17 Senior games in 2010. Be great to see them in action tomorrow in the 20-20 format.

Carey made the semi's but went down to marby by 2 goals.
They looked very very good with 10 of their 1's not playing. Carl peterson tore it apart with one of the best marks i have ever seen. Carey a very good chance to make finals this year.

[Peterson awesome in game 2 and the mark was sensational. He will provide plenty of highlights this year. OC had most of their talent running water but they will be a force this year. Lost little, gained a bit. Wonder why Xavs didn't accept the invitation to Boags event!!!!

Why is carl peterson playing amateurs? he played nearly every game for the Hawks last year, and is still young? Did any of the league clubs have a chat to him, or couldn't they match Carey's offer?
